We're off to Scotlands most southerly point, The Mull of Galloway, with its beautiful coast, lighthouse and RSPB visitor centre. We've been in the past with Nookie Monster and it's somewhere he and we loved, so it was only right to return, to let Nanooks spirit run free there.
It's a windy day, but we walk the coastal path to a thing we've seen in the distance many times, but have never walked to, so we head towards that to find out exactly what it is.
Karl also decides to do a disappearing trick!
We have been living in our Elddis Encore 255 motorhome "Raymond" since April 2021, when we went fulltime with our rescue husky Nanook, AKA Nookie Monster.
Unfortunately Nanook passed away on Thursday 8th June 2023 after a short battle with cancer and we have been heartbroken by his loss, but he will always be a part of this channel.
In March 2023, Helen bought a 1993 Talbot Express Autosleeper Symphony, as she can't drive Raymond due to driving restrictions.
She now travels solo in "The Nook" when Karl travels solo on his Honda Fireblade motorbike.
We have always wanted to show the magic of nature and the beauty of places, regardless of the time of year.
We do show the ups & downs of vanlife too and we also show motorhome related content.

After Karl decided to take the phrase "reaching new depths" a bit too literally, he was discovered at the bottom of a Scottish hole so deep, even Nessie was considering renting out the attic. The area looked very scenic. Samantha guessed the structure would be a look out point.

He's such a twonk sometimes but it was funny when I realised he wasn't dead at the bottom of a cliff!😂 Had no Internet for two days, been a right pain. Gonna message Sam.

Glad you enjoyed it Mary. He can be so mischievous sometimes, but he does get close to edges and things and it is worrying. It was funny though. I tell him he's like Norman Wisdom sometimes with the things he does.😂

If someone sits on that bench near the lighthouse they could always leave a treat for Nooky to have later when he’s finished chasing the birds.

Grat video, Mull of Galloway is my most favourite part of the UK, so many memories, it gets a bit crowed now adays though Lol, first visited around 1960, no cafe at the light house or RSPB, and the light house still had a keeper living ther, LOL, yey I climbed to the top of the light house many times, on a clear day the you can see Ireland, the Isl of Man, Mull of Kyntyre, and Cumberland, Cumbria , we always stayed at New England Bay caravan site long before the caravan club took it over, used to get milk from the local farm, also vegetables, those were the days !!!
@roaminginraymond
@roaminginraymond 6 ай бұрын
I bet they were the days too. It is a beautiful place. We have visited New England Bay too and what a location for a winter sunrise! Absolutely beautiful. Dumfries and Galloway doesn't get the justice it deserves, but that makes it that bit quieter than the rest of Scotland, and for us, much more appealing too.

Colours and scenery there cannot be beaten when the weather is good. I was feeling anxious when it looked as if Karl was right at the edge in that wind however I think it was the camera angle playing a trick of the eye😉. I always love looking at the sea there where the currents collide with one another. It makes it look as if there are whirlpools below the surface. Your vlog makes me wish summer was just around the corner but we still have a good few months to go until then 😢.

We always find it quite midge free when we go. That was August and it was OK, but it was very windy which blows the little feckers away luckily 😁 Does get busy with those other annoying things though unfortunately lol. But not too bad considering the time of year we went.

I hope so Trevor. Although I like Spring the best, when everything is re-emerging from it's sleep and the birds are singing once more. It's the best time of year. We've just watched the starlings doing their murmuration dance again, but we got rained off and so did they. Still a wonderful sight to behold though.
