Bangladesh is known for Ship Breaking Yard and there is so many breaking yards are there is Bangladesh. There is few ship breaking yards in Dhaka city also. Chittagong Ship Breaking Yard is located in Faujdarhat, Sitakunda Upazila, Bangladesh along the 18 kilometres Sitakunda coastal strip, 20 kilometres north-west of Chittagong. It is also know as graveyard of ships in Bangladesh. Handling about a fifth of the world's total, it was the world's largest ship breaking yard,until that record was taken by Alang in India.It employs over 200,000 Bangladeshis, and accounts for around one-half of all the steel in Bangladesh.In Bangladesh, men desperate for work perform one of the world's most dangerous jobs in this ship yard. Some people even die while they work on these ship yards or you can say ship graveyards. They demolish huge ships in grueling conditions, braving disease, pollution, and the threat of being crushed or stabbed by steel sliced from the hulls. This is not the largest shipbreaking yard in Bangladesh. This yard is mostly used to break or perform maintenance work on small ships. The graveyard of large ships is located just outside the city of Chittagong, along the coastline of the Sitakund. This is the final destination for giant ships all around the world. Here, you will find ships as big as you have ever seen in your life.
