Rabindranath Tagore did not write the poem for Bangladesh.. which was formed in 1971..Bangladesh refused to be called East Pakistan,they fought freedom on the basis of Language identity...and they made "Amar Shonar Bangla " of Tagore as their national anthem. Also the poem was composed during early 20th century ...in the period of Bengali Renaissance and Rise of Indian Nationalism...this is a nationalist poem in respect of his country which was at the time under British rule.
