A good book that is historical horror is called A Song for the Void (set in the opium wars) and then if you want a medieval horror story read Between Two Fires. Both were very good reads

Okay, so, I was out in the woods whitetail hunting waiting for the sun to come up when I listened to this... Let me tell ya, nothing gets your hackles up quiet like listening to horror stories about a haunted forest in the dark... in a forest. Faaaar far away from civilization. Had the hands gripping the old crossbow pretty tight there, Vox. Thanks for that 🤣

This is an excellent venture into WWII fiction. The more obscure fronts and battles make for the most creative potential. On that note, I’d like to suggest a story set in the Ethiopian front, particularly of British and Ethiopian troops hunting the African plains for isolated Italian remnants during 1942.

After watching this video over 20 times now, I have to say this is one of the best stories/videos on the channel, on top of a roster of epic stories. The sound effects, music, and 3rd person storytelling all sync together in a beautiful symphony. If I were to request an audio story, I want it in this style.

Hey Granndad, tell me about WW2.... Granndad leans over in the straightjacket the "new home" they make him wear as his brand new "uniform" as he called it a manical glar sets the once sane looking man 30 seconds prior now says "flowers johnnie, it all started with those goddamn flowers".... Grandad never kept a garden he actually was here in this new home for desecrating every community garden that fell across the wrath of his "tank" a John Deere drivable tractor now, when the flowers took that he had to settle with cardboard painted green mimicking armor and he put those on the sides to you prolly guessed it, "stopping the flowers"... as the tracks of his improvised "tank" ground in the petunias time and time anew they took his powered wheelchair from him", as the old lady that lives across from him he made a "flamethrower out of the gardeners round up backpack sprayer", the cane that took the life of so many houseplants stood gritty vine stained green but true.

My granddad served in ww2 can’t remember what ship honestly.. told me a story once from the day the ship he served on was attacked tho.. I don’t remember much of it but the part that gave my younger self nightmares.. said his buddy was sitting on a deck gun when he was hit by a shell.. half his upper body was gone but he was still firing.. that sht scared the hell out of me for some reason.. probably because I was way too young to be hearing it and I had been watching the news with em about the war in the Middle East at the time.. I thought we were going to war and my 7yo ass was gonna be seeing it.. dude I had nightmares about seeing that sht happening to my brothers for some reason.. I remember waking up an checking if they were breathing.. pretty sure my granddad made me afraid of death for a while telling me stories like that.. igh.. the good ol days.

Bro thank you so much for doing this war stories. As a veteran, it’s awesome listen to people with talent recount what we love to hate to do. Also, my two cents, I approve of the cleaned up world eaters voices for soldiers. We walk as sanguinius but fight as Angron. There is no angels with wings on battlefields, only devils. Some of those devils fight for good and some fight for evil, but none are good men. Good men don’t hurt others or take joy in it. We do

As someone who loves WWII history, its hard for me to ever root for Imperial Japan. As they were a belligerent Agressor, looking to prove their racial superiority, through any means, no matter how derogatory. From killing civilians, to surrendered soldiers, to live experimentations without anesthetics in Manchuria through Unit 731, they are thoroughly sadistic and compliant in said atrocities. Doesn't matter if its just a soldier following orders, as proven in the Nuremberg defense for the German officers involved in Concentration camps. They had a moral obligation to see what they were doing, was objectively wrong, regardless of the political desensitization implemented by the Axis alliance governments.

Interesting political take. America nuked civilian targets (of these aggressors and saying “we had to or else is an a BS argument. The US Could when no one else Could, and so they Did)… and to this date invade countries to exploit resources under the guise of terrorism. Justification is seen through the eyes of the beholder. There is nothing a foreign country has done that the US hasn’t, including mass genocide and calling it war. Is that a fair take ?
