In that manufacturing base, it's possible the patrolling robot that spawns in the hallway outside got lured in there somehow (maybe chasing a soldier?), saw your stuff, and did the thing it loves to do (punch furniture until it's gone). We made our own Hydroplant base in the Waterfall Apartments - you have access to water from the fountain, vending machines, tons of space, a great view from the top floor, you're outside bot patrol and aggro range, a shortcut to the area entrance in the basement, and the kitchen has a tremendous amount of cooking space.

My wife, friend and I built our base in the upper room next to the elevator up to the Flathill portal. several outlets and the enemies spawn below us so we are not pressed to defend. It is locked behind a level one security lock but you get that relatively quickly. The only real issue was water but it is a short jog over to the pool and with the blue barrels you can disassemble from manufacturing and other locations. The water purifier made it even easier.

Word of advice, if you build beside any of laser emitting areas you can use laser power converter to gain unlimited 24/7 power (Make sure that you don’t build too far as game chunks tend to unload, making the laser disappear)

also, while i don't know if this is intended, but if you wanna power wahtever you want except for stoves a laser emitter emitting into a splitter where one of those rays feeds back into a converter generates power meaning that it is 24/7 power

You sir… are a genius… because you don’t necessarily need to be _next_ to the lasers… just within a reasonable enough vicinity to use a lot of power strips stuck to the ceiling…

Do note that the infinite energy that this give comes as pulses and not a steady output, so be sure to add a splitter and carefully direct the lasers towards another power converter hooked into a battery so that it can attempt to keep a steady output. Then again, I never bother with infinite energy set-ups. It's not like you need a powered bench anyways to make a teleportation happen since you only need power to the bench for syncing a personal teleporter to it. Once it's synced, as long as the bench is plugged into something, even a drained battery, it works just fine.

Being next to the tram is not really taht big of a deal especially once you get the personal teleporters. You can turn the apartments into a amazing player home/base, then just keep a small satellite base near the hub and teleport to it back and forth Plus once they add in portal networks will be even easier.

My favorite unusual base is to set up at the crossroads in Manufactoring West. The big military base where the dudes always spawn? Clearing out their spawns there and giving us two full buildings with three floors each gives a lot of space and places to manuevr

Above the large room in the office sector (the one connected to the tram to hydroplant) there is a large platform suspended from the ceiling that’s great for a base, only issue is that the closest water source is the pool.

i've only played single player, and the only base i've set up in a spot not mentioned is in the gym of the hydroplant residences (subpar for sightlines but gives relatively easy access to the water-net) and in and lil area looking over silo 3 in office sector floor 3 before you have access (has some natural cover, few nearby spawns (as long as you remember to walk the bot to the electrified puddle), a vending machine and some decent, at that time, pre-renewable resources)

Ok, Security spot is my current base and I love it, but there’s 2 spots you didn’t show I feel are awesome… There’s the live fire area of the Labs… right at the top of the elevator, because once you clear that area the turrets are friendly and stay active at night so free defense from everything except Leyak And as crazy as it seems… the Furniture store… if you have the personal teleporter, make a base at the top of the elevator in the safe area, and link your teleporter The teleporter lets you bypass the puzzle, plus, no enemies can attack you there, not even Leyak By that point in the game, when your in the labs, access to a water source won’t matter since you can just go down the elevator with a few barrels and fill them in a fountain, then use your water filter…

I like the Gym, you get the Gym, the locker room, the bathroom, and the pool. My current base is there. I put my farm on top of the pool using bridges and I can't dream of moving it elsewhere. Everything just works out.

@@el_doinko gives me plenty of room for crops, my cooking area is right next to it. A Choppinator guards the locker entrance to the data farms, two tesla's guard the pool's exit towards the bio-labs. And finally I've blocked off the actual main entrance with concrete. Haven't had anything attack em.

A great spot is to the left of your main base. Those 2 lil aliens constantly respawn, only one direction for enemies to come, you have a large open space, there’s a car past the doors to the laboratory, it’s where I’ve had the most success

To avoid the multiple notifications in the base at security office, you need to have your workbench in the main floor instead of the upper one. I built my last base there, went crazy trying to find a solution and that worked for me. lol

wow... your first base is so vast... i prefer safety, yes security is perfect for that but it grows stale fast and has its flaws when it comes to placing benches and other items around due to odd layouts on multiple floors and the glass paned flooring only allowing the bars to act as a floor for example, using 4 carbon bridges and a copious amount of shelves - i made a base up in the rafters above the gate sign yes, the gate sign in the main lobby where your first base would be.. above the second floor pathway to reception that small box like alcove jump pad works perfect for reaching it

the top of helmholz makes a good base you just need ropeplant and blank to freely access it. you can also use the powered up jumppad plus cube to reach it.

i ended up setting up in executive because it had a water fountain and a few rooms to setup a kitchen and gardening area. i do wish though there was a way to spawn proof base areas better that isnt setting up traps and turrets in every los because it makes areas with small rooms feel so cluttered.

my main base is behind the water cooler and the soda machines at the wildlife pen. raids are a bit busted for the spot, they all spawn in the pen and have to venture around to my base. i will defiantly set up the tesla coils for that robit.

i set my base up in that room with the ladder where you need a keypad lvl 1 to unlock and its next to the elevator that takes you to the fog portal world theres two big rooms plenty of space

had to skip a few segments of the video for spoilers sake but im def taking notes on the security office and level 1 bases. funnily enough ive only used traps as offense instead of defense but setting up chopinators/turrets permanently in the level 1 lobby sounds like a good way to passively farm CPUs. killing robots manually is a pain in the butt

My husband and I have one of our bases at that Hydroplant location - I love it, but it’s SO LOUD. You can constantly hear the soldiers attacking the Composer above you and there’s nothing you can do to stop it 😔

4 tesla's stun lock all robots. For each robot spawn location place down 4 teslas powered by 2 carbon batteries with them connected to an outlet Easy CPU farms

How do you know where the enemy attacks are going to come from? Do they attack all your bases at once or a random one

I'm not entirely sure how it works but they seem to have set spawn points. From my main base in the lobby, soldiers always attack from the doorway where the security bot is, and zombies always spawn near the trams. So once you set up camp somewhere, you'll understand the spawn logic after a few raids.

my main base is in the animal pens in the same spot you showed, but i use a rope vine near the water tank to get up and down and the stairway has the teslas

A powered crafting bench will disable nearby enemy spawns, and then you can also build a ton of different base defenses as shown in the video. You'll want to build batteries for them since the power goes out at night.
