I'm surprised you didn't mention Epic Cosplay! I have several wigs from them and I love them. They're super silky and even my really long one doesn't tangle the way my Arda ones do. My only issue is that my black one was a little too shiny, but it was an easy fix.

I style my friends' wigs for them, and the single Arda wig I styled was really nice quality and super easy to style. Arda is also good b/c they have lace fronts for not too expensive (compared to other sellers) I haven't bought many wigs, but the ones I have bought are all from Epic Cosplay. What I like about Epic Cosplay is there are just SO many fibers. They're kinda like basic wig shapes, and you have to work them to get what you want, but if you wanna create the wig style yourself, I would highly recommend them to anyone searching for wigs.

I actually use eBay for all my wigs, they're nice and don't cost too much. My friend just bought a wig off Amazon, and it was the worst purchase ever, the wig was too coarse so it couldn't be styled and it was horribly tangled and knotted right away. So if you want a wig on a budget definitely go eBay 💖

From what you are saying about how hit or miss wig buying can be, and how hard it can be to track some particular styles & colours down, it sounds like it might be worth while to set up a kind of community master list. I'm also wondering how difficult it is to alter the colour of some of these wigs... that's probably an entire specialty just on it's own. ;^_^

you have to watch out sometimes on lucaille! sometimes the wigs will look more style than they actually are when they send them. Still really great quality and tend to have bigger head size which i know some people struggle with

This is so helpful! I usually buy my wigs through amazon, but it's hit or miss (I usually pay attention to the reviews and try not to buy products that have less than ten or so reviews, but it's hard to pass up a wig that looks so much like what you're looking for!). They don't have a lot of the wilder colored and styled wigs, but it's great for more realistic-looking characters from movies and tv shows. I got my Jack Frost wig from Arda and I love it! I'll have to check out the other places you mentioned. :)

Matchwigs is a great store for shorter, layered wigs (I haven't bought any of their longer wigs, so that's all I know about)! They're not particularly pricey, although their shipping does take quite a while (3-4 weeks in my experience).

I just learned about wig-supplier a few days ago and decided to buy something so i'm glad they are good quality. I've tried arda before, quite a few times actually, and just i hate the fit. For some reason they always have a weird bulge on the top of the head and makes it look like my head is huge, when really I secured my hair and wrapped it as tightly as possible.

I 'm gonna have to check it those wig sites (minus Arda ), haven 't heard of them before :o Wigfasion on eBay is pretty good (found through a cosplayer suggestion actually ), I 've recently bought a black wig form them , it 's super soft and a really nice quality . Their prices are generally on the high mid side , it 's cheaper than Arda but you 'll be spending give or take more than 20 . Fb wig shop /trade posts in your state /area are definitely good , especially if you 're running low on time or on a budget :)

For those in the UK, go for Cosplaysalon on ebay ^_^ they're UK based, the quality is always friggin gorgeous ^_^ they're affordable (£11-15 for standard and £15-£22 for Character wigs ^^)

From my experience epiccosplay wigs is a really good online store! I've never visited their location, but I've rarely had a problem with tangling and the pricing is a bit on the expensive side, but they've lasted me years now without turning gross. All with the exception of one, but it was on the busiest day of AX, in the middle of the exhibit hall and everyone was rubbing against my wig. It's nothing too bad though, just a little fired looking on the ends which I can cut off and re-use the wig for another cosplay if it needed one like it.
