I was hoping and expecting for you to talk about antiques. It doesn't seem necessary to call the entire topic off limits just because you have a financial interest. Just declare your conflict of interest/bias upfront, and then talk in more general terms. You could even use your own business as an example, why not?

I've used a retailer called Southern Swords. They're based in the UK so less postage and no import fees. They have a wide selection and allowed me to return a broken item and get a different one by paying the difference, so I quite like their customer service

I was very sad that Lutel closed due to illness. I would of recommended him in a heart beat cause his swords also came with a very custom scabbard. My armorer Marek does a very nice job too so I have been ordering from him for years.

Most of my Swords are for training purposes. I got Federschwerts from Regenyej, Blackfencer, Szymon Chlebowski and one unusual one from JINO, my eldest in use. They all got their pros and cons. "Real" Swords I own are from Victor Berbekucz or just from an unknown source, just bought on a medieval fair or market. Nowadays it should be easy to have access to good quality without buying crap, though even a price above 300-400€ might leave you with something totally disappointing. So it is important, at least it was for me, to try out your luck and don't buy the first cheap looking think you see.

I used Blades UK to get a Tinker Longsword during lockdown. As the sword came from China it got stuck in UK customs for 6 weeks. Their customer service was ok, not exemplary as they did not respond to emails or messages and when I called didn't give me any exact dates on delivery. I did get it in the end but probably would not go back.

I buy long-knives and short-swords or a fusion of the 2 when I'm looking to buy a sword or something like it, I prefer a fighting blade to be not too long and not too short for practical reasons. Longer blades won't work well in tight spaces. There are 2 blades I have in my collection for short-sword purposes #1 is my Columbian Smatchet #2 is new to my collection and that's my Honshu Boshin Toothpick knife and greetings from America.
