Thanks. The paperwork is to record the salmon you catch. There are quota limits and they want to know how many salmon get caught every year. They give you a ticket if you have a fish and don't fill it out. If you don't return it they charge you $10.

Thanks. An app would be a lot better but probably the reason why is they don't have funds for that. Although they could probably afford it if they put the money from all the people they hire to do the surveys towards it.

Thanks. I have been using downriggers and they work a lot better than the divers. I haven't ever tried fishing for steelhead.

You do. Just keep in mind the season gets shut down early most years so get out there as soon as they let you.

Thanks, Wayne. It is tough to net with the boat in gear but I am getting used to it. I had to learn to do it myself since I was losing fish because people couldn't net them. You're right about the meat; not much waste on these salmon since their bellies are empty.

Thanks. It's freedomboatclub so I pay $400 a month and take out boats when I want. Just pay for the gas I use. I don't have to clean, maintain, repair or gas the boats up. Works well for me and they have locations all over the world.

They do pull hard but the boat is still in gear so you are fighting a bit of current so to speak. We have to write the date, area it was caught, species and if it is wild (adipose fin intact) or hatchery (no adipose fin).
