Those aren't kimberlite Jess FYI those are lamproite pipes. The main one located at Crater of Diamonds is known as the Prarie Creek lamproite. There are other pipes associated with the Prarie Creek lamproite that are known but most of the diamonds are highly resorbed and altered. This area was researched in great detail by Charles Fipke and other geologists / companies. The waterways around crater of diamonds should be investigated in much greater detail due to the large amount of erosion that has taken place in the geological past. I recommend a sluice box with a long grease plate on the end. Diamonds being hydrophobic will stick to the grease while the other material will pass over. You could set up on Prarie Creek itself if you can find access around the park. There's a place called Diamond John's Riverside Retreat that appears to be downstream from the Crater of Diamonds and if you rent a room you may be able to get access to the creek and gravel bars right there. With a dredge you could likely find a kings ransom in diamonds. I've been a diamond hunter going on 5 years now with several thousand hours in research. Thanks for sharing this with the world Jess.

Ive found gold flake metal detecting around Mena, Arkansas, under a large rock. Ive heard that many people back in the day would find gold veins in quarts also.

Would you be willing to disclose more information on that location? From what I've read the quartz to lookout for is stained by manganese.

We bought land and recently moved to Enola, Arkansas, we have red clay dirt and I am wondering if there is anything specific we may have on our property? Or any areas allowed near us to explore?

There is natural gas extraction in your area, but no metals. If you have clay of the right consistency you can make pottery. You're 150 miles from the pay-to-play Arkansas State Diamond Mine in Murphreesboro to the southwest.
@Happycamper103 ай бұрын
Clay areas can have quartz veins look for rocks around area with copper in rocks maybe green stains. Can burn throw in water crush and pan these for gold.

Diamonds have been dropped off by glaciers across the upper Midwest, but the only commercial diamond mine is in Arkansas. You would have more luck panning for gold where others have found gold in Virginia.

Jess, Do you think I could find flower gold in the Mississippi as far south as SE Louisiana? There is a place near me where there is a spillway which is used when the river is running high to protect New Orleans. Well the spillway is dry as a bone right now, it's a mile and a half across and the whole area is like a giant sluice box with roads and bridges crossing it. What do you think?
@number4cat1 Жыл бұрын
Any flour gold left over from the glacier period in the upper Midwest has dissipated into the Mississippi mud far to the north. I've seen video accounts of recovery of small amounts of placer gold as far south as St. Louis. The closest panning spot to you is probably eastern Alabama.
