Also, do everyone a favor and CLEAR YOUR TARGET AREA. When you don't completely clear an area, the area DOES NOT RESPAWN. So clear ALL of the enemies, whether they're Holiday Scorched or not. A courteous gamer is a happy gamer... LOL...

Hunting the holiday scorchrd is good, but farming the gifts is really the ho ticket to success. It helps make it easier if you're Fallout 1st and have access to the private server. The collectrons can be placed in your camp and in workshops, so take as many workshops as you can and pop a collectron down in each set for gifts. I did this in a private server yesterday and got hundreds of gifts. I didn't even bother protecting the workshops, just built a platform in each one with the collectron and a fast travel mat then just hopped around collecting. The only hassle was traveling to each workshop, taking them, and setting stuff up. If you just want the gifts then it's definitely the way to go. A bit of bonus info, the ammo from the gifts will be mostly the weapon you have equipped. So equip the weapon you need the ammo the most for before opening gifts. I got 100 mini nukes in one go that way.

@@stevecharlesmusic1 Set it to gifts. As long as you have the Santatron, which is currently available for free in the Atomic shop, any collectron can be set to collect gifts. When I did it though I just went ahead and used the Santatron in the workshops as it's immediately set to collect gifts.

Here’s something worth mentioning: If you see a Scorched Horde event pop in your game, go to it, but DO NOT KILL the “Alpha” Scorched. Every time another “horde” spawns each Scorched has a chance to spawn as a Holiday Scorched.

Excellent Vlog, just to mention to New starters to this the Holiday Scorched will not spawn if you have to load into a building. You showed a sectional of you running around the medical centre but they will not spawn in here. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍

I got more atoms but still not enough for that new build set... kinda unlocked the tadpole backpack while just taking photos of Places and lifeforms for all the easy atoms.... best way to get gifts: Set up worshops with collectrons. Do route then hit up workshops to collect. And if you have a lot of caps hit up train stations and buy the gift wraps. Easily get 100+ in a couple hrs.

I use private server, and every hour or so I go to a Public server and Dump ALL my repeat plans at the 76 drop box. I have stopped putting legendary items in these boxes because of the Legendary Crafting coming next update. Have a Nuked Day.

If you capture workshops to farm Santatrons you place there and still want to do Collision Course, don't capture more than 5 workshops otherwise you won't be able to trigger it. Once you hit 6 workshops the event won't fire unless you swap to a different character.

Keep an eye out for scorched horde events as well, as long as you don't complete the event (kill the leader) the followers will constantly respawn

It's kind of spotty, but if you do attack the scorchbeast at collision course, it can become hostile and spawn more scorched, but in general the top of the world & nearby cabins seem to be the most efficient for me...

Bounce to a new server. They also respawn pretty quickly. I was on a server the other day and competing with a guy where we kept showing up at the same places after or before one another. It was sorta fun to see who got them first.

Because I need plans because I'm just starting out I have been playing santatrons in like.. four or five places. By the time I'm defending one, and opening my gifts (with a chance of scorched being one of those raids) I tend to get quite a bit of plans. I think I'm only missing one plan or maybe two from the event now. Side note: I'm also doing this on fallout 1st.

In about 1 hour just in posedion power plant and few other locations I came out with 17 large, 10 medium and 13 small gifts which was pretty good I just wish the ones you buy to make gifts was tradable or at least less pricey to buy

If you don't like to have audio on mods are your best friend there's a lot of mods that will pop up with a gift or highlight the scorch and you can see how many of them are at locations I usually don't run through it unless I see at least one

Mods are great on PC. We don’t have those for PS. I bet it saves a bunch of time to know the festive scorched are there before you roll in and shoot ‘em up.

I have been struggling since this started. When I pick up or craft a gift, it does not appear in my MISC inventory. I also can't see my keys and other items. And when I've opened gifts, it doesn't show me what I got in the yellow text on screen. Anyone know how to fix that?

I thought holiday scorched did not spawn in locations behind a loading screen, such as the interior of riverside manor. I did notice in your gameplay clips from that part that not a single one spawned for you. I thought they only spawned in the overworld parts of the map.

Yes. Sorry, my bad. I forgot that they won't spawn inside a place you have to load into. However, those locations usually also have lots of scorched outside, and those will produce some festive ones. So, don't ignore those locations.

So I just made and opened 15 medium homemade gifts from wrapping I'd bought last year and got nothing from them other than 50 caps! Then I went to all the top spots - including doing Collision Course - and got exactly THREE one star holiday Scorched. PLUS when I open them nothing comes up on the screen so I have to look at what's new in my inventory. One of them I got ONE item from. What gives?? I don't know that I have the patience for this.

Go to Wavy Willards. I bet you'll have better luck there. Remember, this runs for two weeks! You're bound to get stuff just by running dailies and getting random scorched encounters. AND!!!!! Set up the Santatron. No patience needed for that. It's free and it just collects gifts for you.

There are only 1 per location and about 25% of the time none. I have not tried the park up north, just seems so out of the way just to get 1 gift. Also, make sure you go to your private server if FO 1st. You'll just get frustrated otherwise. You can create a team there if needed to meet your challenge.

That has not been my experience at all. Well, you saw in the video, up north I got 5 in that one spot, and I ran that same route every time. It's chance. Just try different servers, different times. And get the Santatron!

No. I don't buy gift wrap. I find it unnecessary. Between running the routes and the Santatron I get more than enough gifts. As for buildings, all locations that require you to enter, ALSO have scorched outside. They are still really good places.

I have been doing the daily Festive Scorched challenges mostly on private worlds to avoid competition with other players, so I may have just had a few unfortunate runs, but your suggestion does make me wonder if world population might figure in somehow. Either way, think about how crazy this is: on a world with 24 players (ignoring departures and new arrivals) there need to be 240 Festive Scorched for everyone to complete their daily challenges. 240 in one world! There just aren’t enough of them to go around. Thank you for the reminder. I already configured my robot dog to gather gifts. I wish I could configure it to track down Festive Scorched for the daily challenges.

The new update is bugged to where player icons dont show up on the map. This has led to my santatron being robbed. I've killed 3 players in one day robbing my santa tron, this is becoming a problem.
