3:19 Woohoojin also mentioned something like this once you're in a smoke. BREATHE, look at minimap, and try to process your next steps that you'll be taking based on the info you are getting from the minimap.

I think another way to describe it is to look at the crosshair for micro adjustments and to look at the target for larger flicks. This way i also combine it. When i flick i look at the target and when the crosshair is close enough i look at the crosshair to be more precise.

"You should focus on the crosshair if targets are smaller, and focus on the target if targets are bigger." - Matty OW, the current best aimer in the world I was just trying to figure this out. I've been taking aim training really seriously lately, and everyone I came across has been saying to just focus on the target at all times. Doing this in Valorant made things pretty hard for me, and I found I aimed much better when focusing on getting the crosshair over the enemy head, rather than focusing on the enemy and bringing the crosshair to them. When I rewatched one of MattyOW's Q&A's, I heard what he said and everything just clicked for me. I play a lot of different games, and I realized the only thing consistent between them all is confirming your target. Now I choose to focus on whatever is better for the current task at hand, and just make sure I'm confirming that my crosshair is on target. s

Earlier this year I became a speedts main and never looked back. Just do speed ts and static for most of your training if you're playing Val. Eyes for raw target switching and crosshair for holding and close range.

I'm sure Tenz hasn't really thought about it much, he just does it. You really kind of have to do both I've found. You look at the target when you are aiming and then you line the crosshair up when they are close.

I personally look at the target when my crosshair isn't on it so I can move it to the right place, and then when my crosshair is on or very close to the target I focus on the crosshair to microadjust it. Explained like that it sounds like a long process, but in reality it's in less than a seconds, my fellow osu players know what I'm talking about.

it should be natural, if you over think it you’re going to whiff because you’re trying to decide where to look mid fight.
