I stayed in El Peñon when I was in Cali. Met some very chilled people there. Very nice area and I stayed a few blocks away from that hotel you spoke of in a plushed AirBnb. San Antonio and Granada are definitely the towns to hang out at and mingle with the locals. Everybody goes to that park in San Antonio (including myself) overlooking the Valle de Cali, especially at night. Good job Sly!

Hi Sly. I'm a Cali resident. Born and raised here. I enjoy your videos. You got one little thing wrong about South Cali. All of the neighborhoods you named are located in the western part of Cali and the neighborhood you called South Cali is actually called Ciudad Jardín. Southern Cali has got a lot of neighborhoods which includes Ciudad Jardín too.

Your video is accurate.I've been to Cali a few times but I would say Parque de Perro is in San Fernando.I like South Cali also some of the homes are very upscale.

The crazy thing is that’s where I lived until 1993, and back then it was ALL residential except for one nightclub called “Palladium”. My uncle owned it while my father managed it. Can’t imagine how it looks, now. Haven’t been back to Colombia since then.

I lived in Cali in the late 1980’s, I felt I was the only Westerner in town, great that your given out this info for us now. It’s always been a wonderful place to visit or live cheers😀 My ex wife lives in the Pance area in the South, some beautiful houses there with a lot of countryside around

Sly's Life Yeah you should go their it’s a truly beautiful area, a lot of wealthy people have very nice houses in the area. Also Calima in the north near the town of Darien by the lake is another well known area where people go to get away from the heat.

El Peñón (Oeste) and San Fernando are the top two for sure. I'm going to give El Peñón #1 at a quick walk away from Granada and San Antonio while avoiding the wahalla.

The best neighborhoods in my opinion are Capri and El Ingenio. Both are in the south. Both are economic level 5. (level 6 is the highest) They are both close to two excellent shopping malls, universities, and the Ingenio Park which is a huge park for weightlifting, aerobics, jogging on and off the track, dirt bike riding etc.

Can you break down the savings you're getting compared to your life in Medellin? Also, granted Medellin's infrastructure is better, the weather ideal, and Cali's too hot, what would weigh more on Cali's favor as a place to live as an expat with a modest SS paycheck?
