We watched your videos assiduously in San José Costa Rica for months before coming to Paris this week. We were at Le Dome today when we saw you in front of us as a patron ran after you to give you a bag you left behind. Big smiles as we thought "we are actually in Paris just like you!" Fascinating to watch you work with cameras from across the street. God bless you both, you helped make our day! Oh, and thank you for excellent advice and information!!!

Wow! I just returned from my Christmas holiday in Paris. Being an Asian, i would always stay on the 9th whenever i am in town. The 9th never runs out of good Asian restaurants to recalibrate your appetite after devouring on cheese and butter 😊. It is pretty safe, very much accessible and so much of old world charm alongside modern Paris. I highly recommend staying around Le Pelitier or Grands Boulevard metro stations.

@@demonslayer1196 Hotel Maxim Folies is fantastic, however on a pricey side. During my recent trip i stayed at Walled-Off hotel along the main street of Rue du Faubourg. Just 3 mins walk from Le Peletier metro station. Moderately priced in a very nice neighborhood.

I really enjoy staying in the 13th and 14th arrondissements. They are cheaper, but you can find nice places to stay with lots of good food, fewer tourists, and you have easy access to the metro. If you just want a “local” Paris experience, especially in the winter, these are my favorite.

@@he-edd-l3784 I've only stayed in the 11th but am considering the 14th; however, the Denfert-Rochereau metro seems daunting (it's the closest to our lodging). Thoughts?
@he-edd-l37845 ай бұрын
@@annglamgal : Good choice ! Paris 13th, 14th and 15th "arrondissements" are good places to spend a few days in Paris. Many groceries, supermarkets, butchers, boulangeries, cheap restaurants, affordable hotels, etc. Then, jump into buses or metroes... The distances to central Paris are quite short if you are a healthy pedestrian. As a french boomer, those 3 three districts are my favorite choice. Now, I am living near the river Loire (Lwaarr) 70 miles south of Paris, a place full of of fairy tales castles, old houses, outdated inns and antique watermills. When I want to spend a few dans in Paris, I always choose a hotel or a flat in those 3 districts. Then we visit some museum and spend hours wandering in the streets, "nose up" ... Reminds me of romantic moments between 1960 and 1980, when ladies were wearing miniskirts and huge sunglasses.

Hi les frenchies. Paris is a beautiful and large city that attracts people from all over, a sort of meeting place for the world. So many different people and different languages spoken. So many hotels, restaurants, boulangeries shops etc to choose from. I’ve been here over 20 times and you have covered my favorite quartiers if not to stay in, at least to visit while here. I’ve just completed 4 nights in Montmartre and am heading to the latin quarter tomorrow for the rest of my trip. I’m very impressed with how you not only do the research and produce the videos but especially how you make the time to reply to almost all of your followers with comment. I’ve used your guide while here and found it helpful. Everyone should buy a copy. Thank you for doing that. Too many other KZbin’rs don’t. So please accept my gratitude for your efforts. The notes about AC and accessibility are so helpful to note as is the smaller room size. Certainly not a negative (as many hotels are in old buildings) but good to know. Same with transportation options. Everyone has their priority when traveling or what's important when booking lodging and you explained the areas/what's there so thoroughly. Super helpful! We felt safe everywhere we went (always keeping eyes open to surroundings) and truly enjoyed our time in the Marais.

OMG, finally a travel channel from people around our age. Is so hard to find a good channel with good advice, especially for all of us not so young anymore, or with so much stamina, willing to city hop Europe with a backpack and a pair of sandals. I mean, we love traveling, but we also love comfort, and we favor a good cozy hotel or Airbnb over a crowded hostal any day. We usually only have breakfast where we are staying, have lunch in the city, and sometimes just get a pizza or some cheese and bread and have a quick sandwich for dinner. Or maybe just a caffeine-free tea if it was more like a lunch/dinner. I haven't seen your whole channel yet, this is my first video and needed to leave you this note. I hope you also cover travel tips. We traveled in 2019 and got bit by the Paris bug really good. Thank you for doing this, and I hope we can met one day when we return to Paris.

In May we stayed 8 nights at the Hôtel Caron on Rue Caron in les Marais. Quiet short street off Rue Sainte-Antoine and just a short walk to the Saint Paul metro stop. The hotel is very clean and nicely appointed. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was a little bigger than I expected and came with a French balcony and a freshly restocked complimentary mini fridge every day. Just a few steps on the corner was Place Sainte-Catherine with excellent options for meals or late night drinks. Whether walking or metro/bus we found this location to be excellent for easily getting around town. The rate was definitely within our budget. We did not get the daily breakfast for obvious reasons, but the downstairs breakfast room was incredible, all stone walls and arches. I love the vibe of the area and felt at home very quickly. We will definitely stay there again next time we go to Paris.

Last trip I stayed in the Montparnasse area. I was not that happy in the beginning but we were there for two weeks and the transportation was just the best. We had access to everything we needed to get around the city, and out to Versailles. The neighborhood was pretty commercial but not too far away were areas with more ambiance. IF it is your first or maybe ONLY trip to Paris, I wouldn't suggest it. It won't give you that "French" feeling and it's not charming.

I planned to go this year but if anyone is reading, unless you are desperate, wait until 2025, the year after the Olympic Games as this year and next year prices are surely to rise… Besides, Paris is eternal and saving money until then will be well worth the wait from what you have shown in your excellent commentary. Great intro. Pretty much captures all the most significant points in a brief synopis. I feel that each district/arrondissement was fairly characterized in my opinion. Well done.

OH MY GOODNESS, MERCI! My wife is planning a trip soon! She’ll need a connection for sure! Would love to talk to you about places to get the most with so little as my wife gets solo. I have to stay home with her mom who is 81. She’s excited because it’s her dream since she was a little girl and even wrote about it in a book, but sadly every year was put off because of death. We lost 4 relatives close in these passed 3yrs and she needs a break from taking care of everyone ❤ much love from Erie, PA USA

I understand completely. Our family has many big losses in a short period recently. Your wife is lucky to have your support. If she is on Facebook, we have the Les Frenchies Travel Paris Travel Tips group there. There are many solo female travelers in that group, enough that we are considering a private group just for solo female travelers so they can share their knowledge, experiences, concern and best practices.

Thank you for this- it’s a great guide to where to stay in Paris but also perhaps where not to stay if you want to feel safe and comfortable. I get the impression that Paris has changed a lot since I last visited some years ago which is a shame but it’s still such a wonderful vibrant place which you manage to show in your vlogs! I’m hoping I can visit soon! 🤞Happy New Year 🥳 🏴💕

I stayed in August in the 17th arrondissement at the Avama Prony Hotel. The neighbourhood was quiet and public transport (Metro, bus and RER) were really close. Also, there were cafes and boulangeries, but a few of them were closed for the holidays. It was my first time in Paris and although I loved the city, I didn’t feel safe most of the time and I didn’t really get to enjoy my time there at the fullest. Perhaps, being August one of the busiest months, there was a lot of people, so the chance to have someone pickpocket you was higher and I was really careful of my surroundings. Hopefully, I will get the chance to come back in a less busier month and enjoy it more. Thank you for the video!

Bonjour les frenchies. I am dining in Chez Renez now. Danielle says hello and that he is very popular now. This is a couple blocks from my airbnb on Rue Cardinale Lemoine. It is an adorable place. They are offering pot au feu on Thursdays my absolute favorite winter dish. Thank you for this recommendation.

In the 1st you left off the only Hotel we stay at, Hotel Regina du Louvre. Its fantastic and not that expensive considering you're just step from Vendome and the Seine.

Great video! We were in Paris last May and stayed in the 16th which I recommend for a quiet neighborhood feel and great Metro access at Trocadero and Victor Hugo. We stayed at the Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel Hotel and loved it.

The area around Denfert Rochereau (the Catacombs) is brilliant. When you check re elevators make sure that they operate from the ground floor, not start one floor up. Lastly.........use buses to get around, they're brilliant.

Our first time to Paris last year and after our River cruise, we stayed at the Latin quarter and interestingly enough we stayed at Hotel Notre Dame. Your first recommendation on this channel. We asked for a room facing the Seine with a view of Notre Dame and we got it.

i have stayed in the same hotel on my visits to Paris. It is in the St. Lazaire area of Paris. The railway station is very close. The metro is less than a five minute walk and most places are within walking distance. On more than one occasion i have had my room upgraded.

My favorite hotel in the 6th is the Hôtel d’Angleterre on Rue Jacob. FWIW, this was the building where the Treaty of Paris was signed to end the Revolutionary War. It is a very friendly boutique hotel in a great location. The famous cafés on the Boulevard St-Germain area a short walk away, as are many wonderful restaurants, such as Semilla (one of my Paris favorites). It is also a short walk to the Pont des Artes to get to,the Louvre. The rooms are a little larger than many places in the 5th/6th
