KG you are my G but I have to write a little book now: No we weren´t misled. NOTHING CHANGED. Backing doesnt mean wanting a manager out when there are bad results. Believing in the team, manager and players means you stick with them through all of it. Now if you want to be reactionary and emotional thats very understandable, but the way i see it: Despite Man U's coverage and reputation its at best a subtop team. Getting into europe would be overachieving. The problem is the fans and media dont treat United as subtop but still as if they are the best team in the world or at least in England. We as fans do the same as soon as little parts start going well.. Then when it turns out we are subtop and not a top3 team in the world (when we get bad results), everything comes crumbling down. This has happened over and over again, so until everybody accepts that United is not a worldtop team anymore but just a sub top to midtable team in the process towards top4 and eventually top1, this will just keep on happening over and over again. It doesnt help that every rival fan loves maintaining the narrative that United is a top team in shambles instead of a subtop team in build up... See the big difference between these narratives and the different consequences for fan/media evaluation? These unrealistic expectations mixed with historical glorydays makes ETH's job literally the toughest and hardest job in football. Nobody can actually do it right when they dont come in and start winning the league within 2 seasons... Despite all the shit in the background happening.. Fans dont care about that they just want to see a new generation of United players dominating world football.. Well..... What ETH did was break the whole house down (which was needed) and he is trying to build it up now. We are 6 games in, a lot of new players, a lot of young players, so they actually need a season to gel. Unfortunately thats the sad truth... So when you look through your glorydaysglasses United is shit, but when you look through realistic nuanced glasses United is actually a proper exciting project, especially when they have the time to get where they can be. But thats the thing... Nobody has the time, and every United fan just wants to see results right away. So in a way the transfer window was perfect for an exciting up and coming young squad on their way to the top. But its not fitting for a top 3 side wanting to become champions.. If instant results and top finishes was the plan without long term project thinking we would have gotten renowned and elite level players instead of hot prospects. See the contradiction between the actual situation and every fans and the media's fantasy bubble world? So to actually see these players perform and develop we gonna have to give them time, and yes we will lose loads more games against better sides.. (Like Spurs, Liverpool, City, etc) Comparing United to any of the actual top teams is just a wrong comparison. Yet that is what every fan and the media keeps doing... Sorry English is not my first language but I tried to explain why everyone is constantly flip flopping and reactionary.. The narrative just doesnt fit reality and the actual monster of a task that lies before ETH and the board. Hoping you understand KG, sorry for writing a bible but it actually grinds my gears to see every fan behave as if United were still in its glorydays when we're obviously not...

And im not saying that ETH is the next Fergie and just needs to get through this, but if we dont end the cycle somewhere, we will be having these meltdowns again in a few years because of Southgate, Potter, Tuchel or whoever is coming in IF he gets the sack. And tbh 2 trophies is still better than what Arteta got, and he finished 8th twice. The difference for them was more patience and goodwill instead of the whole world wanting to see him fail.. So ETHs job is again more difficult, because outside of just building a team and way of play, he needed to get trophies. Because thats whats expected at United. The same doesnt go for Arsenal... So he needs to gets results AND build a team at the same time.. Whereas Arteta could just focus on building the team, he got 8th twice and still didnt get sacked. If that happened at United he would be long gone.. So unless United cheats and goes full chelsea and gets 472 players in, this job literally is impossible.

I suspect the club more divided/toxic than people know. It can't be the manager every time. People in the club are undermining the managers, can't see another reason, because it happens with all of them.
