I love that you address things that are ageless. I am 62 but refuse to become a little old lady. Fashion has always been fun and I have always enjoyed just doing what I like each day.

Fashion is what you see in magazines and on the runway. Style is personal. It's the way you put together an outfit based on body type, color and fabric preferences, climate, lifestyle etc. Only wish I knew this when I was younger. It would have spared me so many regrettable choices.
@lavonnealexander69367 жыл бұрын
terraveda well thank you for sharing this information. I am 21 years old and you should be happy you help someone as young as me.

I think fashion today is a lot less restricted than it was when I was young. As a teen in the 80’s, the choices were limited. And ugly. And you had to wear what was in style. Today, seems anything goes.

I agree with the point "avoid wearing too many trends all in one outfit." It tends to take away from the look you are trying to achieve and it doesn't make it your own. Great video and your tips are very useful!

My style tip for those who dress anxiously and overdo it: once you're completely dressed, take off a piece of jewelry. Allow yourself to think that you're enough. I can't thank you enough for how much you've helped me personally in the last two months, Karen. You've been one of my main style gurus since I've started reworking my life and fighting off depression, and my now minimalist wardrobe has gone a long way in simplifying my mornings and, ironically, adding more variety to the way I dress. I am now the one in the office who loves A line, structured, pocketed dresses, casual button down shirts, and the color blue :) One of my favorite things about your videos is how you light up when the inspiration strikes you. Your attitude is so creative and excited to create art - it's infectious!

@@KarenBritChick Yours is by FAR the most inspiring style channel I've watched on KZbin. It's really driven home how important it is to find your individuality, and that being stylish isn't about owning a specific article of clothing or accessory. I'm late to discovering fashion and style, and as a newbie, I was still looking for a formula and people to tell me what to wear because I hadn't tapped into my sense of style or knew what I was doing. But the more I watch and learn over the past two years, the more I can put all of this information into context and use it to cultivate my own personal style and even play around with it. I love your spirit and keen eye ❤

Great tips as always. Along with "don't wear too many trends" don't buy a seasons wardrobe at one time from one store. Looks end up mediocre, unimaginative, and you'll get sick of seeing it on everyone else. Love the bloopers!!

KarenBritChick my tip is to be a little imperfect. Dont try to get everything exact. Example... let your jean cuffs be a bit uneven. Let your shirt tuck be a bit messy. Not to the point that you look disheveled, but just don't fuss to much as it looks uncomfortable and a bit undone can look effortless. If that made sense lol

Transformed overnight! The morning after watching this video my mantra became “effortless, signature style (for me it’s statement jewelry, color, skinny jeans), and comfort. I selected a top that showed off my shoulders and arms and I swapped out some less comfortable cigarette pants for my killer embroidery-detailed black jeans. With the perfect necklace and earrings donned, I looked to my hair. It was a mess and I was short on time. I recalled the tip to pull it back from the “how to look thinner” video and I wore it in new style: a low ponytail with a exquisite mother of pearl hairpiece, followed by a few quick hits with a curling iron in the front. Confident, powerful, perfection.❤ You are brilliant, Karen! #effortless

I've been going back to your 2017 videos and this, along with "How to mix prints", are my absolute favorite. I had seen pix of Julia Sar Jamois, but until I saw this video I hadn't really thought about (duh!) her as actual inspiration, and OMG, huge epiphany moment. So I gravitate between her style and yours, and ideas I see elsewhere. Thank you for showing us the way, Karen. I sound like a broken record, but the best tip from you, ever, is buying items from the men's department: got two gorg blazers (thrift) and amazing jeans recently, thanks to you. Being excited about how we look is such a win-win. Even if it's a sucky day, if you are excited about you look and what your are wearing, it can be such a mood changer. It's a "pick me up", and self-love, because it's something you do for yourself.
