Great video! Yeah I'd love to see coal become totally clean, but then what about the mining? Seems like mining coal would also be pretty destructive. Unless maybe once the mine was tapped out, you could go back in and grow a new forest there. Make sure the whole area gets overgrown with new plants and soil.

I agree, coal never really will be clean, from mining it to burning it. It'd be nice, but... They do try to do reforestation and such.

What do you think about underground coal gasification in combination with carbon capture and storage ?
@WhereisRoadster3 ай бұрын
It could work, sure. But there are easier ways to have clean fuel.

What about syngas?
@WhereisRoadster3 жыл бұрын
It's closely related to the powderized coal mixed with oxygen. It is a part of the more efficient systems, which use essentially an internal combustion for a first phase followed by turning the waste heat in to steam for the second stage.

Oke thanks for clarifying. Great content btw🙂

I heard that there’s coal in Utah that doesn’t have chemicals in it. When burned it releases CO2 and water. Doesn’t need scrubbers. But I literally can’t find anything online about this info.

Ugh fuck reducing CO2 Everyone plant some marijuana and stop deforestation obviously 🙄
@WhereisRoadster3 жыл бұрын
@@evanscott1194 It's possible, and it would be cleaner. Still, I doubt there is perfectly clean coal anywhere, although there is certainly some that is cleaner than others.

@@WhereisRoadster thanks for your response! I still think coal is the best/cleanest energy resource we have.
@WhereisRoadster3 жыл бұрын
@@evanscott1194 Cleanest energy? Ugh, it's the least clean energy, that's pretty clear...
@evanscott11943 жыл бұрын
@@WhereisRoadster it burns off CO2 and water? Scrubbers catch the bad stuff which is made into goods. Obviously solar panels are ok if you aren’t using batteries which die and are thrown in landfills(plus lets not forget how much good old coal is used to make those batteries) Windmills produce tons of fiberglass waste once they break that sits in landfills. So again thank you for your response, but no it’s not clear to me at all. Tell me what I’m missing?

Great video. What's the latest?

Latest on coal? About the same. I'm working on a few other videos I expect to release soon otherwise.

Why can't we use biological systems ??? Like microbes and phytoplankton ???
@WhereisRoadster2 жыл бұрын
The can help with some processes, sure, but biological systems aren't a solution for everything. Will see if I can do more research on this at a later date.

clean coal is a lie. there is no such thing as clean coal
