In RE2R When you get the the Main Office where you find Leon's Welcome Surprise (and his locked desk containing the Extended Magazine) you'll find the note telling him how to open it (He's gotta get the the first initials of the other Officers) *and at the end of the Letter* someone actually scrawled *in blood* "Be glad you're not here, Rookie." This really has the weight and emotion that I think they were going for with Marvin's line in the original. Though it's not as memeworthy.

Wait. Really think about that Jill's Sandwiches easter egg for a minute. If Jill's Sandwiches is an actual place in the RE universe, one clearly enjoyed by the RPD if they have its number tacked to the wall, then it's entirely possible that Barry was actually making a joking reference to it with his original line from RE1. It's a reference. That turns what it's referencing. Into a reference. This is the greatest fucking remake of all time!

Yknow what’d be sweet? Given leon takes and puts on a RPD uniform rather than showing up in one, a bonus costume that makes it a S.T.A.R.S uniform that he grabs would be very cool. LBR had Leon run his course in the ill fated RPD he probably would’ve ended up on the STARS squad.

Ive been playing video games religiously for almost 30 years now and in the past years Ive had a hard time getting hyped for anything anymore I mean sure I LOVE video games just as much but theres hardly anything that feels new to me anymore but I cant express how much hype I have for this game and how Ive been counting the days literally ever since its been revealed. Ive had the feeling that this game would turn into a masterpiece and what I experienced from the demo confirmed that even more. Ill be awe next week when this game drops Ill play through it countless times, will definately go for the platinum and will enjoy every single bits of it. I actually hated how the demo rushed you at rushing through it and not actually enjoy it as much as you want but oh well, only 1 more week to go.

I know what you mean. Minus some story differences most games are copy and past with different characters. Collectibles and sandbox mechanics over and over. It gets stale after a while. That's why I was glad to see they were bringing an already awesome game into modern day technology. I was definitely excited for this one and it definitely delivered on the return to survivor horror.

In the 1997 demo of RE2 the head does drop if I remember but was later changed. The the hanging zombie was said to show how its hanging buy was unable to do so due to the screen. As fo the Jill sandwich its due to Silent hill as Hideo helped out making that game

The original padlock codes found in previous versions of the demo 'CAP' and 'DCM' are also callouts the first being obviously CAPCOM though many also think it stands for Captain, DCM is harder but seems to be based on the movie review site that has continuously given the Resident Evil films it's highest rating. Others also say it is a reshuffled callout to Devil May Cry.

I'd like to tell everyone I actually discovered the locker combos by brute force. Set all three letters to the one closest to the start of the alphabet then try everyone on the far right tumbler then move the middle one and do it over again. Repeat till you find it. Still, I didn't find all these easter eggs because I just didn't really care to. I was too busy enjoying the demo. Still, awesome they added it all in for a demo that was suppose to only be 30 minutes long.

'98 was the year original RE2 released. Jill Sandwich would have taken place in '96 implying the number to be 555-1996. So I think that's why they went with 1998?

1998 is the year that Resident evil 1 takes place, the game was released in 1996 but takes place in the future. So in the RE timeline, barry says "Jill Sandwich" in 1998. In our real life timeline he said it in 1996 as well.

Is it possible to turn OFF the help messages which tells you what you need to be doing and where you should be going? I'd rather figure things out like I did the 1st time I played the original RE1, 2 and 3. What made the originals unique was there was no help messages popping up in the corner of the screen or no forms of way-points - only survival tips were at the back of the manuals lol. I don't know way this was introduced here - anyways, hopefully all these things can be turned OFF.

@@atomic747 Not way points but help or hint messages telling the player what s/he needs to do. An example of this is "Examine the computer terminal" or "Find Elliot Edward". These hints appear on the top-left corner of screen as soon as you enter the police station and after you examine computer terminal respectively. These are in the demo and main game (I've seen the first 15 mins of Claire's intro gameplay - its like go here, go there, escape the room etc - these need to be turned off IMO)
