This is a story about non-dual teaching. It’s not what you have or don’t have. It’s about whether you are aware of who or what you truly are! The beggar is aware that he’s not his circumstances nor is he his body. He realized what he truly is are unbound, timeless and unending awareness that CHOOSE to experience this life as a beggar for now until awareness itself (I AM) choose something else for itself. While the King may temporarily have everything (materially speaking) but he’s still not totally satisfied because he lacks the awareness of who he truly is. He thinks that he IS his body and his circumstances and therefore he know that his body and his circumstances do not last for long. Therefore how can he be truly happy knowing that all that he is and all that he has will definitely end someday! Sooner or later but it definitely WILL end. 😊 Buddha has another way of putting it. You suffered not because of your circumstances. You suffered because you attached to your circumstances. Once you realize your ignorance (the reason why and how you attach to your circumstances) then you will be free and at peace at last no matter what your circumstances. And that is the true and everlasting happiness!

I think this story is about how to embrace Life whether we are rich or poor. Life itself sends out Fortune as well as obstacles so we can grow as individuals. No matter how many times we have faced challenges, disappointments, quarrels, or either wealth, recognition, and admiration; we have remained alive, therefore we still are wherever we find ourselves. Today morning i was just feeling, i am doing the right thing being all happy happy, in a world full of sad people, but this is exactly what i did 8 months ago and i have been happier since. But the world filled with negative thought processes and negativity keep making me feel weird. Regardless, i am glad this is what I did, and i approve.
