My 27 yo son committed suicide in July 2023. He was a Marine who was meritoriously promoted x 2 and became a Sergeant in record time. He worked as a Supply Chief in a position that was above his grade but a General said he was mature enough to do it. He left the Marines in 2021 after his 5 year service. He didn’t get a job. He was partying. He was using Cocaine. He battled depression and couldn’t settle his mind and the drugs made everything worse. He was in debt and I guess he just gave up. Everything in his life was fixable. He was handsome, intelligent and so talented. He could play the guitar excellent and was self taught. Also played piano very well. I’ll never understand why he didn’t have the strength and the will to go on. Please always remember the tomorrow may be your best day ever and to KFG - Keep F**king Going. Rest in Peace Weston Brent Martin- my shining star. Call 988 from anywhere if you have bad thoughts or need to talk or need help. Love , from a Broken Momma💔❤️❤️ Whey keep playing and singing and thank you for spreading the word about mental health. God Bless You All.

I'm the mom of a MARINE vet. I'm so sorry about your son. I'm crying as I type these words. I'm praying for you that you find comfort in the good memories you have. Hang on to those and don't ever let anyone forget his sacrifice for this country. And it was a sacrifice. He may not have died in combat, but ultimately he paid for his service to this country with his life. Love and prayers coming your way.
