Hey! This was a great video showing real world info on both ends of that spectrum of buggies. Immediate sub from me man! I see you are a new channel and hope you blow up quickly! I can’t really spend the nec time to get good enough for 1/10 buggies. But I love bashing and outdoor and want to look into cheaper 1/8 RTR’s and this video was PERFECT! I looked at your other videos and can not wait to check them all out! I thought about converting one of our Slashes to a BackSlash and run the local dirt tracks but then started looking at Typhons and really do wanna give 1/8 scale a try but on a budget. Can’t wait to watch pt 2! Keep up the great work!!! 👍👍👍😎😎😎

Hello, the Typhon TLR true history is that it's a Team Durango DEX8 /DNX8 and has no connection with a Losi buggy lol HORIZION HOOBBY own Arrma and TLR at this present time that is there only connection lol, newbies should buy what ever brand they want as it is so easy to buy parts on line delivered to home, many hobby shops do not keep race kits in stock, if I took your example of only buy what your local hobby shop can supply I would never own a Tekno, Kyosho,Losi or Team Durango vehicles , My latest purchase is the New Tekno SCT on line right to my door .

I just picked up a serpent SRX eight ready to run pretty nice buggy however I kind of regret it because finding parts is kind of hard to do

I have the Kyosho NEO 3.0 you’re showing. Great buggy, did add the sway bars and 17 pinion, better shock oil and diff fluids, BUT if it breaks, parts are already scarce. Depending on d we bag breaks, may not be able to fix due to parts not being available.

Somewhat. Kyosho has released year another couple of colors for the neo 3.0. having released the rtr for the mp10, I believe they chose to kill the mp9 line. If so, they must keep a cheaper product, and that's where the neo comes in. Also, rcdamper and gtbracing make some great upgrades. And you can always make do with some parts by hobao and hsp. And the buggy has a 3D file with at least one version of each of its components. So, if you have access to a CNC machine, you can always make some parts.

I don't let shop inventory dictate my car choices. It's the track that brings me to the shop. If they have my parts, I'll buy. If not, I'll bring my own.

Where is your hobby shop located, do you have a website?

I believe they have 2 locations about 10 minutes apart from each other. Katy tx & Fulshear tx X Treme RC

Next time you build a kit buggy could you video it, just so a novice like myself can get an idea of what to do?

Building a kit isn’t all that hard. I did my first one when I was 11 years old with the Tamiya Frog back in 1984. I just built a Tekno SCT410 2.0 last week.

Best budget option on the market if you go with the RTR. There's no reason to buy the kit, though. It's not that it's bad, it's actually quite a good car, it's just that it's so middle-groundy that while it doesn't have any weaknesses, it also doesn't have any strengths, and so in every situation someone is going to have some sort of advantage over you. You can definitely still win with it, it's just that it will entirely be on you to do so. The car won't hinder you but it won't help you either.

The tlr typhon is a basher not race . Its to heavy. I got one but have spent way way to much just to lighten it. Buy the kit cars if racing. RtR for playing
@VestedUTuber11 ай бұрын
A TLR Typhon recently won the Sportsman A Main at Beast of the East. Sure, it's a heavy buggy, but if a good driver can win with one on clay where vehicle design and setup matters more, it can definitely be competitive at least at a club/sportsman level on dirt like what E-Buggy is typically run on. Besides, the Tekno EB48 is just as heavy if not heavier and people swear that thing's a top-end racing buggy. A roller for a TLR Typhon weighs 6.29lbs. A roller for an EB48 weighs 6.5lbs. So if the EB48 can be a racer and yet weigh more than the TLR Typhon... well, you do the math. Honestly seems like you're really just brand-bashing and gatekeeping.
