Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour has finally wrapped up an amazing 2024 season, and now it's time to find out which anglers are in and which anglers are out for the 2025 Bass Pro Tour season. MLF Bass Pro Tour is changing the amount of anglers that participate in their bass fishing tournaments. Twenty bass fisherman and anglers will not be allowed to fish in that tournament series, so let's find out who did not make the cut for 2025.

As a fan of the BPT.. im glad they made all the changes.. i want them to be totally different from Bassmaster.. not that Bassmaster is bad i just want it to be totally different.. i can't wait till they cut the field to 50.. my hope is with a smaller field, they'll go to different lakes.. we've seen enough of Florida especially.. Texas and the TVA... with Heavy hitters being by qualification instead of entry fee to help with the cost of travel I'd really like to see it on Clear Lake or the California Delta.. Eliminating groups A and B will make it even better.. change is good...

Thanks for the information. I agree that cutting down to 50 (in 2026) and having a 4 day tournament will be a big plus for MLF. Now I'm looking forward to the Team Competition, starting Aug 25 in Erie.

Hey Steve I've owned 3 businesses in my life time and it's ridiculous what they are doing to these kids every year it seems like the purses are smaller and smaller. I think that's why a lot of tournament fisherman have quit. I remember when the pay outs were five hundred thousand dollars. All the sponsors have cut a lot angler's out of money. It just doesn't pay you have to lay out more than you make back no good and that sucks because these guys give there HEART & SOUL to tournament fishing and to teaching us new techniques and it's not right that they are not getting paid way more just because they give those companies and sponsors there all everything they have. I don't know Steve I absolutely do not like the way these pro bass angler's are being treated financially by all these companies that they are affiliated with and I truly believe they are being taken advantage of. . Contracts get cancelled by poor performance. It happens in ALL sports. Football, basketball, baseball, etc. Blow out a knee or shoulder and it's all over. No pension, no contract, nothing. Billy Sims did it right by insuring his knees and buying a ranch while still playing.

@@DatGuy960that’s not true. Only the nfl has non-guaranteed contracts and all leagues have pensions. I went to hs with a couple former nfl players and they lasted the minimum 3 years so they get nfl pensions. None of these pro athletes pay to play their sport. Pro Fishing is a sport that you have to have skill to stay in the game but it’s also a form of gambling. Most pro athletes don’t need sponsors just to be able to compete. Motorsports as mentioned it the other one.

I’ve been involved with FLW/MLF FOR 2decades, and this year was one I paid the least attention to other than live streams of BPT and I went to the Chowan River for the weekend. My biggest wonder is Matt Stefan just made it in this year ( 2024 ) and he’s out😢??? I know he is much better than his rookie year produced,but I don’t think anyone has only had 1 year🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m actually glad Boyd is out, and I thought the St Lawrence river was a great tournament with Michael Neal showing out his cool and his determination,especially me being from Kentucky I had hopes for John Hunter who has hung in under most radars for years. It’s definitely a pain in the Butt to figure MLF/ BPT and the way they destroyed the “ProCircuit” but it’s just fishing, which is always up and down😮😂

Boyd is probably #46. Don’t see him not fishing his tour. They need to bring back day 1 & 2 shows on line. Overall what I watched was good and for MLF prefer every fish. They need to not run events on top of each other. I am one that would love to see an end of season super tourney of the top 25 or 50 from B.A.S.S. and MLF going head to head. Maybe weigh all in qualifying and best 5 on championship day.

This put a damper on my enthusiasm to watch the remaing days. So I missed some time watching because I found other things to do.

Steve, dont forget the requalify is based off of three years average. Rojas should be in. He gained a bunch of points 2024 alone. But the released list when it comes you should be entertaining.

Yeah I can't wait to see the list. I sent my list to a couple anglers and they said that they thought I was 'pretty much correct'. I like the BPT because it's different.I think they do a real good job covering the tournaments. With that said I would probably give this season an 8. I am looking forward to the team series, and the changes they made there seem to be really cool. I also like the fact that they are cutting field down. I think it will be better in the long run for the anglers. I think some of the anglers that are out this year will go fish the Tackle Warehouse series to try to get back in and qualify. They added money and a championship to that series so I believe some will go there. The opens are tough, don't pay well, and there is no championship. Time will tell.

Rojas was kind of a shock but he really has not had success. Some guys who might not make the cut next year should take a good look at their skills. Do they want to try and turn things around? I wish MLF would have a list - if IN guys opt out, then bold or red letter them and move the cut line down.

I am not about to watch any kind of professional fishing on TV. It has become a disgrace to the sport of fishing. All because of the high tech sonar systems and livescope. I'm not about to teach my Kids and grandkids how to play a Video game just to catch a fish. it is disgusting to watch. It's all about the MONEY. But it is destroying the sport. when the Bassmasters come to fish Smith lake. They killed lots of fish by pulling Them out of deep water with them DAMN livecope systems. And people around the lake was very Pissed off about that B.S.

Definitely 9.5, maybe, a starting point on ffs, would be every other tournament no ffs, also Redcrest and Heavy hitters. Bassmaster would do well, eliminating at least 35 anglers. I can't say pro's if your, always in the bottom 30 %. They started Catch, Photo, Release in the 90's. Now, catch, weigh, release, no more weigh in's.

You pretty much have to win a tournament, or consistently be in the top ten to have a good year, what with all the expenses. I assume sponsorships and KZbin are their main source of income. And why do those that made the knockout round but finished 11-20 earn the same as those at 30-40?

KZbin is not their main source of income for anyone but Blaukat and Milliken, KZbin pay is crap. They try to make it so that anglers make some check from the tournament. Tournament alone to join is 5k each. That's not anything else. Cheers and tight lines!!

Not really a fan of the every fish counts. Watched final day of Heavy Hitter and the Skeet Reese win. I think MLF is doing BASS a favor by shrinking the field. Also the rookies got screwed in my opinion. NPFL is also gonna get stronger.

The worst thing they could do is do away with forward facing sonar it's great for television on one wants just watch casting also I like weighing all fish a current size is better than 5 fish limit my opinion 😊
