what I just realized after watching hundreds of videos and using tens of cameras... no one ever said the action cameras would be best for vlogging... it handles movement better than others and it's great for talking heads... I'm so mad I didn't find the recent videos I watched earlier in this quest.

@@houstontola That’s actually a really great point! However, there’s a reason for that. The majority of people asking don’t only want a camera that’s good for Vlogging, but also for recording indoors or usually something else. There’s also a certain aesthetic, the ability to zoom, or blur the background at times that they’re looking for in those use cases as well. If you’re 95% creating content outside like, hiking, camping, backpacking, cycling, etc. it’s the absolute go-to because of its size and durability. Plus, they’re extremely stable and can handle a myriad of weather conditions. Indoors though or lower lighting situations, they look bad for the average user. So, they end up having a Go Pro or Osmo Pocket style camera and a mirrorless camera. It’s all a matter of preference though. For some it’s their phone, others it’s action cam or an Osmo Pocket. Then, you have those that want a ZV-1 style camera or an APS-C styled mirrorless camera. Whenever I’m giving a recommendation, it’s always based on their primary intended use case, what kind of scenarios they’re going to be creating content, and what they say they want. So, the Go Pros of the world end up being a secondary camera for most if they get one, not the main camera because it doesn’t check the main boxes for what most want when vlogging. So, I can’t speak for fellow creators channels, but that’s likely the same reason as well. Even I have a Go Pro, but I still opt for my preferred camera 95% of the time lol

Great advice about falling in love with creating content and not camera brands. I will say, LUMIX G9II had amazing IBIS, but Sony is what I’m comfortable with. I’m always battling GAS. I need to make a video about how I got fired after 27 years for saying no to the new director.

@@AprilClayton lol I hear you! Testing and playing with cameras is so fun, so I get it! The day I quit my job, I went live. Even if you decide not to publish it, it’s good to document it.

That dude in the "you're on mute" shirt carrying the HP box needs to pay you royalties for his cameo appearance inclusion in this vid 🤣

Great content as always but the video quality seems worse than usual? plus vignette every time you pan?

Glad you enjoyed the video! lol It was literally 100 degrees outside and a bajillion percent humidity, I promise you setting up the "perfect" settings for every shot was the very last thing I was worried about lol Plus, I never over obsess about minor details. People like to quote done being better than perfect, but won't publish what isn't perfect. I live that out. 💯
