You can clearly see a patern in the responce. The strong opinions often pulled towards putins side, then most were neutral and loved every country and respected everyone, and then some gave a clueless responce like * They changed president so the I dont like them anymore. But you can see that many looked scared.

Our world has been turned upside down. This is a joke, I hope your laughing. You know the legend of King Midas? The king that turned everything he touched into gold. Everything the Russians touched in the last 200 years also turned into something, but not gold. I mean, go on Google maps, street view, go to any place in Russia outside central St. Petersburg and Moscow, look at the "houses", at the "streets", this is the standard that we had in the west in the first half of 20th century. Same goes with medical supply, I hear from Russians I meet that people on the countryside die from easy treatable diseases cause there are no doctors. A quarter of your population does not have flushing toilets, a third of the male population goes to prison at least once in life. Look at the cases of domestic abuse, on the rates of alcohol abuse in the population. Hundreds of thousand of young men died in Ukraine already. This country is devastated in every possible regard. Despite the natural resources you have not any approach on the challenges of 21st century, and in your desperation you act violently. You are so poor, I would feel pity for you if you were not behaving like barbarians. Wake up.

That doesn't make the country bad, but the government. For example, Canada has good people, beautiful land, but the TRUDEAU GOVERNMENT SUCKS.

I had an amazing time in Russia in 20023. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd and the Kalmykia region. Got absolutely shit faced with an armed on duty cop on a train buying me Vodka and then escorted me to my cabin. His name was Sergei and we tried so hard to communicate. Met a lot of awesome people and still keep in touch with them. I'm heartbroken it's a no-go place for Americans now. The Mother of Russia statue was mind blowing and the Hermitage museum was stunning.

I think the older generations mostly disliked the US because of the Cold War. They would've been alive during it, and probably would've seen lots of anti-American propaganda plastered around by the USSR. I think it's fair to excuse them for that, because most of them don't really know better. It's also interesting to see what Russia is really like, it's not like how Hollywood always depicts it, either as a very cold country or as a war-torn dystopia with military everywhere, it looks similar to any other developed country, and nobody here said they don't like Ukraine, what the government does is out of their control. It's like getting mad at the entirety of the USA for invading Iraq, even though hundreds of millions of Americans didn't fight and were likely against the war.

What does the east of Germany thinks of the current economical and political course of the German government? What are the reasons of liking Russia, by your opinion? I love Russian culture and the Russian people. The Govt (not so much). We both love firearms, booze & oil.... Maybe we have TOO MUCH in common lol. Even talking to American and Russians who lived through the cold war/soviet era seem to say the same thing and have the same reasons for not liking one another (which kind of cements the fact we have way more in common than we have differences). The Americans and Russians that grew up in the late 40's-80's were raised and prepped for a war with each other that never came. By the fall of the Soviet Union, the Russians and Americans were force fed so much propaganda by our own governments that we didn't (and still don't) know what to believe about one another (most of which wasn't tethered to reality on both sides). Both governments and the military industrial complex attached to both governments were in such competition (part of which helped create some of the most beneficial tech, etc. etc. The competition helped humanity tremendously. We would not have anywhere near the understanding we have of space without the COMBINED efforts of Russia and the U.S.A ever seen (whether it be space exploration, the internet, GPS, reliable transistors, chip tech, satellite tech, nuclear energy, jet aircraft tech, firearms innovations. Somehow both our govts want us to believe we have nothing in common and are enemies?? None of the reasons that the Russian and U.S government give us for supposedly not liking each other are tethered to reality. Just parroted talking points really aimed at opposing govt by other said opposing government (not the people or cultures). We have much more in common than we have differences. We all want the same thing as individuals. We both made mistakes in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, South Africa, WW1, WW2, etc. We went to the Middle East for the same reasons and we both left for the same reasons. Don't be fooled by the same people who would use you as cannon fodder in a war that you don't even know why you're fighitng for.
