I don't feel that this is the case at all - I feel like I was having the most sex when I was trying to validate myself in unhealthy relationships. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 3 years now and this is the best and healthiest relationship I’ve even been in I’m also the happiest I’ve ever been we don’t have sex very often for multiple reasons I don’t really have a high sex drive and neither does he, he also works long hours and i work part time and take care of the house and all our animals, we also take care of his elderly mom so we just get busy with life but we have an incredible deep bond and a very healthy loving and understanding relationship we connect on a deeper level than I have with anyone else before and don’t need sex to validate that. we find different ways to spend time together and show intimacy and when we do have sex it’s very intimate and more “making love” then just horny and having sex. I also noticed that I have the best relationship with his friends and him with mine than any other partner I’ve had because we take that time to know who/what’s important to the other person, my friends and family love him and vice versa.
