Have been through them all over the past 35 years starting with cubase on the Atari ST! Have stayed with Reaper for 2 years. Its a great all rounder with super low CPU consumption.

I’ve heard good things about reaper but never personally tried! How’s it for production?

For me , i use StudioOne and it was an excellent DAW. But if i was starting now, i would choose Cubase. Its updates (last 2 years) are insane, they added hundreds of features and plugins, that StudioOne left quite behind. But still you can do 95% of all production needs with every DAW.

Yeh very fair - Cubase does seem great! Honestly I was just looking at REAPER which I hadn't really considered - they've got a version for $60 something dollars and the features seem so solid, nuts haha.

The issue is that each DAW has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Yeh exactly. My opinion is that the strength of one is balanced by the weaknesses of it, they all kind of balance out
