I haven’t tried the hydrating version, but the original version was too dry for me for sure. Especially with under eye…even when you moisturize the skin, a more hydrating concealer I’ve found works best😊

the matte/black cap is known to dry a shade darker than it appears in the bottle. elf even states it on their official website. the white cap dries down to the color in the bottle.

@@Juju-l3o yes, it's more that I don't like how yellow they all look. The undertones all look yellow in the skin on the influencer videos and they have to add concealer to fix it. I like the regular formula better because beige is actually beige.

@@cralston800 Right? Like why even have the same shade names when it’s completely different, I wish they would have gave people a heads up I had to figure it out for myself, it was definitely misleading lol.

@@Juju-l3o exactly 💯 I went to buy the same shade and tested it in the new formula and it was yellow not beige!! Nope I'll take my satin finish anyway, at least I don't need as much powder and it looks more natural anyway!! 😜

@@anootnoot7192 whoah, i have extremely oily skin and any product which is made for combination + dry people makes my skin super greasy. I can't bear it, so icky. Matt products like the black cap one are my lifesavers

I think even with oily skin, the under eye area is dryer than the rest of our face

I have oily skin and even for me it’s just a bit too drying especially under the eyes, I feel like matte concealers should be illegal lol !

After I bought the elf concealer, my friend said the concealer was really bad until I watched this review and found out she had the normal one and I had the hydrating one so that’s how she said it was really bad

Ya the camo concealer is rly ass I have rly good skin but I use concealer to brighten up some parts but it cakes and applies so bad and literally stains as soon as I apply cus its THAT DRY it made by skin look even worse with it on

The hydrating concealer has PFAS, I’ve stopped use, do not want risk (lack of evidence doesn’t mean absence of evidence ) of cancer or other problems. I would much rather prefer the 16H one therefore

I’m probably too late lmao, but imo elf is higher coverage, but dries down fast and can go kinda crusty and patchy (even the hydrating one) whereas instant age rewind is super creamy and skin like but is more of a medium to light coverage

The original one just sucks so bad it’s so drying, even my oily skin hated it, on the other hand the hydrating one is amazing, just wish the shades were the same as the original one they were either way too dark or light lol.

if you download the app, you can use your pre-existing concealer shade (of any brand) that matches you the best and it will give you the next best shade match from their brand. I tested mine for both the hydrating and 16HR one and i got completely different shades but it turned out to work well for me!
