@@haneeffireworks69 Maximum viscosity should not exceed 40. Try the following: 5w 30 full synthetic or if on a budget, 10w30 mineral. After crossing 100, 000 kms, you may increase the viscosity to 5w40 or 10w 40 if the engine is reducing oil. Avoid 20w50 at all costs. The higher the viscosity, the more strain on the tiny 660cc engine, hence high fuel consumption and reduced power. My preferred brand for 5w30 viscosity full synthetic is Total, as it is easily available. You can also opt for costlier brands like Liqui Moly and Mobil1, depending on your budget.

Viscosity is the measure of a liquid to resist flow. Oil has a tendency to thicken when cool (higher viscosity) and to become thin (lower viscosity) when heated. This is bad for the engine, as thick oil (high viscosity) does not easily flow through the engine when you start it. Similarly, when engine is at running temp., the oil is heated and it becomes thin (low viscosity), which reduces its ability to lubricate various engine parts. To mitigate this, multigrade oils are used which have 2 sets of numbers. for example 0w30 W stands for winter. The number before W (in this case, zero) indicates that the oil behaves like a zero viscosity oil (according to SAE standards) when the engine is cold, so basically thinner oil. As the engine is started, this thin oil flows much more easily during the startup. The other number (in this case, thirty) is the oil viscosity when the engine is at operating temperature. So the oil behaves like a 30 viscosity oil at this temp. (Again, according to SAE standards). Since this is a thicker oil, it lubricates much more effectively all the engine parts.

Always use the same viscosity grade as recommended by your manufacturer. But here are some general guidelines: 1. Newer engines don't have any wear or tear, so they benefit from thinner oils like; A. 0w30 B. 5w30 C. 10w30 D. 0w20. Older engines (mileage 150,000 km and above) have more wear and tear and generally benfit more from a thicker oil (because it lubricates worn out engine parts better) like: A. 10w40 B. 15w40 C. 20w40 D. 20w50

Don't miss guide please. Best way of oil selection is to follow car manual because today latest engines mostly recommend 0W-20 so you can not choose 10W-40 because more than 70% wear occure at cold start 0W-20 gives better fuel economy than higher viscosity grade, secondly you need to check API performance level also, whether it is SP, SN or SL. SO CHOOSE YOUR OIL VISELY because YOUR CAR IS MORE COSTLY THAN ITS OIL-BLOOD.

Bhai Loug... Koii bhi car ya machinery basic maintenance se he chalti hai, so always follow these steps jo Aap huud bhi aasani se kar saktay hain. 1- Clean Engine Air Filter once in every month and replace it if required. 2- Clean Air Censor (attached with Air filter box) with throttle spray or Isopropyl Alcohol spray jo kisi bhi mobile repairing shop se mil jata hai/ Never use Petrol) + Air Throttle (with Petrol or Throttle spray) after every 3 months. 3- Clean Air Manifold 2-3 times in a year. 4- Always use pre-mixed or Pure Coolant in your cars because Coolant boils at +230C, Ĺekin saada ya distilled paani 100C per. Coolant aap ki Car Engine, AC system aur Radiators ko overheating aur rust se mehfooz rakhta hai. Aazmaa ke dekh lo. 5- Always change original or high quality engine oil + oil filter (in time) Sustaa 0il aur 0il filter avoid karo please. 6- Always change automatic transmission fluid/0il after every 30000Kms drive and then Transmission Filter with Transmission fluid/0il after every 60000Kms. Automatic Transmission Fluid/0il Types har Car ki 0il Gage/ Stick per likhi hai. 7- Clean Spark Plugs after every 10000kms with throttle or Alcohol spray (Please don't use Iron brush) 8- Replace Spark Plugs in time. Dear Khalid, the ambient temperature having no link with engine at cold start. Further, 0W having flowing capacity in -40 and same 5W or 10W having flowing capacity upto -25. As per your, no need to use 0W in Lahore or Karachi is not correct. You may use 0W, even in extreme hot countries for better performance of engine. Ambient temperature and Engine Temperature at start is entirely two different subject. However, viscosity parameters like 30 or 40 after "W" link with ambient temperature. Regars

very easy to select proper engine oil for your vehicle... select two things as per your car manual. (1) - oil Grading based on your area maxium temp. for example 10w 30, 10w 40, etc. (2) SAE number , it is written after oil grading. for example SG, SH, SL, SM, SN, here higher the second alphbet like N, is better. because it covers the requirement G,L,M, etc.with additional feature. Note: if engine reduces oil, first make sure it is not fake, otherwise change to higher grade 20w 50, but it is just to help u to run the engine and reduce further wear and tear. this higher grade will reduce performance and economy as well. .. if any body has any question regarding engine oil. plz ask I will help

No no no no u are getting it all wrong The number before W i.e 5W,0w,10w etc is the thickness of oil when engine is cold. 0 is the most ideal oil for cold starts because it flows and warms up immediately therefore low wear and tear during start up. Higher numbers such as 5 or 10 takes longer for oil to flow and warm up and the engine has more wear and tear. However it is okay to use 5w instead of 0w as there is less difference and is cheaper but dont go for 10w or higher The number after w i.e 30,40,50 is the viscosity of oil at 100 C or when it is warm. So 10w30 ,5w30 and 0w30 will reach same viscosity when the oil is warm. But yeah just choose lightest w number and recommended after w number

This is wrong at so many levels The 0 does not represent 0°c It is an SAE standard The first number on any oil box is the cold start viscosity of the oil. Obv one would use a lower CSV number for colder areas but it doesnt represent temperature. As for the 2nd number. Engines oils are designed in way to grow more viscous when the engine gets hotter while running. So the 2nd number represents the max SAE grade of viscosity which the oil can reach For example an oil graded 5W-40 has a cold start viscosity of 5 according to SAE and a viscosity of 40 on 100°c
