ABS and ASA are significantly lighter than the more-common materials. Your testing suggests that ABS is comparatively temperature resistant, but vulnerable to shock. Temp resistance is a well-known property of ABS, so no surprise. ASA is also said to be more temperature resistant, but I'm wondering how shock resistant it is. My curiosity is not merely academic. I am building a 100 printer and would prefer to use a light-weight and temp resistant material for the tool head.

We do have some ASA material as well, there are some other materials I would like to test in the future alongside ASA, to get a better understanding on some of the less commonly used materials too. Thank you for the suggestion!

A very nice video, I like the different types of tests. I would recommend doing 3 tests of each and getting an average as it just makes the results more reliable rather then one time wonders. Over all a very interesting way to measure the absorption with a hammer I really liked the graph. Keen to see what else comes from this.

Thank you very much for your suggestion, the final results for each test were an average of three tests for each material as I also thought that it would eliminate any unforeseen or outlier results. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the video!
