I have a small club chair that I need to either reupholster or make a slipcover for and I can’t decide which one to do! I have some sewing experience, as well as minor dining room chair upholstery experience. My thoughts are to try the slipcover first and if it looks terrible then try the upholstery. I have been avoiding action on this for several years because I am terrified of messing it up!😳😩

I totally get it! analysis paralysis. I think that's a good idea to try the slipcover first. If you know how to sew then you should be great! Send a pic of your chair on IG @mimzyandco I'd love to see if its a good candidate

Great video! I’ve been thinking about whether I want to reupholster my wingback chair or make a slipcover for it… the chair is so comfortable and has the most beautiful tartan upholstery currently, but unfortunately my cat has destroyed it over the years.. I feel like reupholstery would emulate the current effect best, but then again, a slipcover would be ideal in case my cat sinks its claws into the fabric again. Wingback chairs just seem so daunting all in all, still debating what to do

ooh. that's a difficult decision. Wing back chairs can be difficult either way. Some are more curvy than others. I've done slipcovers and upholstery on tons of wingbacks...it's 6 of one or half-dozen of the other. I'm no help at all, right? but I think you're right about your cat and a slipcover being a good idea.
