In Botswana we usually buy layers at Point of Layer (18weeks)...and we only have to feed them fo a week then they start laying... sometimes you can be lucky and get them at (19-22weeks) @BWP89 or usd8.9
@farmsdiary Жыл бұрын
Wow That's great!!! Seems you guys have more rearers over there. Over her in Nigeria, rearers are very few, which leaves 90% of the farms to raise the birds from day 1 themselves

Not yet sir... The times we find ourself is not good for a layer farmers. Probably when it becomes favourable, I'd document it.

Can you breed your own broiler stock by using them to mate?
@farmsdiary Жыл бұрын
Sure!! But you'd have to use layers schedule to raise them, and for 18-20 weeks, so their reproductive organs will be fully developed for reproduction. If the females get to that stage and there's no male to fertilize their eggs, they'd be laying table eggs.
@warfaageeddi3128 Жыл бұрын
@@farmsdiary Thanks,i was thinking about using broilers not layers to mate to raise my own broiler stock and not be dependent on companies.

Its a nice idea That's how hatcheries raise broilers, so you can do it...

Hello pls how many feeders and drinkers 500 broilers need
@farmsdiary Жыл бұрын
As the birds grow daily, there's need to always increase the number of drinkers and feeders to avoid competitions and encourage uniformity. Plus feeders and drinkers come in a variety of sizes. So make sure there's always enough and extra available at all time.

Please can broilers lay eggs and also hatch for young ones?
@farmsdiary Жыл бұрын
Yes to both. Female broiler that have stayed up to 18-20 weeks and above, will lay table eggs, just like layers. The only difference is that layers do better laying table eggs than broilers. A sexually matured female broiler, that mates with male, will lay a fertilised egg, that will hatch chicks
