I prefer no fairing. Normally, all I do is day trips. And I prefer the look. However, I now live in Flagstaff, AZ. And it’s is so windy up here, forcing me to consider a Memphis Shades Road Warrior.

@@SheldonBrown567 on bobbers or most cruisers I prefer no fairing. It does look cleaner

Fairing. Definitely fairing. When I rode without one, the pressure on the chest was unbearable.
@IronBornRiderАй бұрын
Yeah especially if you have taller handlebars. Your body becomes a wind sail

Oh man you’re right about chasing that windshield size on the fairing to eliminate wind buffeting 🙃. As you mentioned it’s different for everyone, not one size fits all. After using my RW fairing for an about a year I do mostly prefer having it mainly to deflect wind on highway rides, reduce wind fatigue and riding in any cooler weather and especially riding in the rain. It’s nice to have a quick detach option for those occasional hot humid days we have here lately 🙂🏍️👍

I was watching your video last night about your new windshield. Hopefully it helps with the buffeting. Enjoy vamm and ride safe!

I have a 2012 Dyna Wide Glide. After crunching the numbers on how much it would cost to get a windshield that is actually sized appropriately for me, I am going with the naked bike. Long trips will simply mean more breaks. More time to take in the sights and smell the roses. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, sometimes it’s just better to go without one!

I think you answered all the questions. I have a '98 heritage and only use the windshield in cold weather. I don't travel so I stay off the interstate. If I want a dashboard in front of me and a cup holder, I'll take the truck.

The windshields do help keep you a bit warmer, very true

I test rode a street Bob with the Road Warrior fairing that my Salesman just traded in. He said it’s perfect for him. No buffeting at all. I test ride it and it was absolutely horrible. I had to ride slow or lean forward to get rid of the buffeting or I was going to get a headache real quick. Everyone else sings the praises of this fairing though. Kinda crazy how that works.
@zackadams419Ай бұрын
Just remembered he had a Saddlemen step up seat but took it off before trading it in. Maybe that pushed him forward the two inches to that sweet spot?
@IronBornRiderАй бұрын
Yeah there’s always a lot of variables at play. I heard that the wind also comes from beneath the bike and hits you from the bottom.

Lol or with a motorcycle

I own a rogue, and even that 1/4 fairing moves a lot Of wind off The body. I just took it off and I can feel the wind on my lower torso/chest.

Not sure what that has to do with the topic of the video

@@IronBornRider nothing to do with the topic or any of the topics in your vids. Was just wondering if there are any vids of you taking curves. Maybe off of falls, or great falls rd? The Virginia side of great falls is fun. About 15min away from the town center

@@Maryland_Motorcycle_Rides sorry I misread the tone of the question. I do have some older videos of going to skyline drive. The main road I usually take is either route 28, or River Rd. If I have the time, I'll hit up Frederick, or Deale which I really enjoy.
