Eyeglasses often offer convenience and in many cases can give better vision than contact lenses. However, contact lenses can give users a more natural vision feel. Plus, contacts can give more freedom to perform sports and other physical activities.
Personally, I often wear contact lenses but I do occasionally wear my full prescription glasses or...sometimes I wear both! I occasionally wear contact lenses and then have a small glasses prescription with a astigmatism correction to help me see my best when looking in the distance.

Glasses start to bother me after a couple of hours when I start feeling the pressure around my nose bridge and temples from the frames. I just find contacts easier to wear all day without any pressure at all.

Contacts all day for getting anything done. With -3.00 glasses the distortion in the periphery of my visual field is distracting. Glasses or nothing when all I need to do is read. You're the first doctor I've heard who acknowledges motion sickness and visual distortion from glasses.

I know in school we learn so much about the physics of glasses and medical science about the eye that I think most doctors miss the forest for the trees. I have spent a long time trying to get better at communicating visual phenomenon to people online - and in many ways it has made me better at understanding how we see. I should have a video some day soon about glare - wow that is a lot more complicated than most people realize lol.

Contacts also give off a more natural, confident look, whereas glasses can make you look like a nerd. This is why I tried so hard to get contacts to work when I was in high school, but my eyes literally rejected them because they can't handle foreign objects touching them. So I think I'm stuck wearing glasses for life now.

I love my glasses. All I have to do is take them on and take them off and it saves me a lot of money by not having to buy contacts, cleaning solution, and not having to worry about staying up for at least an hour or so to give your eyes a chance to breathe. For me it is extremely cost efficient.

Up until age 40, I definitely would have said contacts. After age 40, I started to have difficulty reading things up close when I had my contacts in. I had to start using reading glasses to see up each time I wore contacts. So far that reason, I now prefer glasses with progressive lenses.

Ohh I see. I'm not sure if you have heard of this or if your country has these but there are multifocal contact lenses specifically for people above the age of 40 who start having problems with reading! If you happen to be interested in the idea of wearing contacts while correcting both your near & distance vision, you can check the available options with an optometrist near your location.

I prefer my contacts. Ill deal with the dry eye and all the time involved. I absolutely hate the way my glasses feel when moving. I probably put my glasses on once in 6 months. 100% monthly for me!😊

I wish I would be able to use glasses, but my keratoconus problem is so big so I can't use them. My eyes are hurting as hell on the summer not only from the sun but also from the huge temperature. I have terrible eyesight without them, so guys be grateful that you can see or you just need to use glasses or soft contact lenses.

In summer time I really suffer, although I try to use some eye drops very often, but the truth is that they don't actually helping a lot. Above that I have blurred vision when the weather is very warm and of course I have photophobia.

Glasses, hands down! Been wearing them since 1st grade and I’m 64 now…. Tried hard contacts first (oh my), then soft, permeable ones came out. I never had the crisp, tightly focused vision with contacts like I did with glasses (due to astigmatism). Plus the dry eye and corneal abrasions were too much after awhile. I made peace with wearing glasses and now have several pairs that I use as fashion accessories (aka wild frames)

I prefer wise use of a plus-lens for all close work - to go from 20/50, to 20/20. That is from -0.75 Diopters to +0.5 Diopters, by accurate measurements. Glasses are better for getting out of myopia. That is my favorite!

As someone who's worn both I prefer contacts just because you don't really have to adjust them not typically normally they're just perfectly in place also nobody knows you're wearing them but glasses have their own appeal like if you're older and maybe you struggle to put contacts in and also the price of contacts is typically much more than glasses especially if you are a daily contact where as opposed to someone who buys some monthlies a year supply of dailies was around 600 bucks for me but then they were discounts and stuff

Contacts are better when you have an outside job. I am a delivery driver and glasses are a pain when it rains and fogs up. I don't have any of those issues with contacts.

I hate the burden that comes with glasses: smudgy lenses, sliding down my nose, temple and ear discomfort. But I do not want to wear contacts for problems like dryness and corneal ulcers. However, I do not want to get refractive surgery to eliminate glasses and contacts because of expenses and problems.

Smudgy lenses are not much of a problem with special coated glasses, sliding down your nose is a problem with the frame and its not with all glasses, same with ear and temple discomfort.

I would hands down prefer contacts ,but I suffer from dry eye syndrome after my pregnancies for some reason. I'm a year postpardum and still have the extreme dry eye. So contacts are not an option. I love my glasses though; found the perfect ones for me.

Honestly between the two I’d rather go contacts. For me, I only wear glasses while driving and I’m too lazy to wear contacts (it’s been a year since I last got in the habit of wearing them, no problem with getting them in or out). I might consider refractive surgery, though I need to get the eyes checked and get an idea what I’m up against.

Once I found contacts that work, I will never go back to glasses! I was always wiping smudges off the lenses and pusing them up my face. With contacts it is nice. I just see like a regular person. People take that for granted.... of course I do miss transition lenses. Now all they gotta do is invent contacts that protect against uv and also are for people with astigmatism. I guess sunglasses will do for now. But uv contacts would be cool. Sadly for some reason contacts for astigmatism have less options. I can't even buy colored contacts for my rx.

Acuvue Oasis Max has UV protection. I’m not sure if they would work for your situation or not but they do exist!

Once you practice the hell out of putting in and removing contacts they are a billion times better than glasses. When you wear glasses your eyes are not as visible. In my opinion

I wear glasses when I’m just hanging out at home, and contacts when I’m out & about. It’s usually a nice balance that gives my eyes a rest & better oxygen when I can take out the contacts for at least part of the day. Wearing contacts for too long can be bad for your eyes.

you cannot lay your face on the bed with glasses, if you wear a mask the glasses will get foggy, or any other wet and hot stuff will get your glasses foggy even while opening your girlfriend's legs, although you won't have to worry about the girlfriend bit because you won't be attractive to most women when you wear glasses.

on the lass bit of your comment, as a woman I think glasses can be attractive, especially when the right style is found for their face. But then again I think getting to know someone and there personality can make them become more attractive and an attractive person looks wise who is mean or it just doesn't click can become less attractive .

I guess it depends on the type of defect and your eye prescription. For myself, I prefer glasses because I don't have a strong prescription, so if I want to engage in sports or whatever I can take my glasses off and be fine.

I've had both. My glasses never rolled up and got stuck under my eyeball. Not even once. Getting that pulled out was less than pleasant. I'll just stick to my glasses thank you.

I'm new to corrective lenses - I've got better than 20/20 vision for intermediate and distance but need lenses for reading, plus I have eyestrain so for distance lenses do help when my eyes get tired after staring at code all day. I much prefer contacts because I dislike the restricted field of view from spectacles but even multifocals cause my distance viewing to be blurry, plus since they're extended wear, occasionally sleeping with them so I can read in bed until I pass out. I don't sleep with them in often even though my contacts are approved for sleeping and wearing multiple days, and going past a full day doesn't happen because I take them out for showering.

I like my gas permeable hard contacts. I've been using my Alpha 1 lenses for well over 10 years now. They have been the most comfortable contact lenses for me. The pricing on them has finally dropped. They were really pricey when they first came out.

I think it's on personal preference. I prefer glasses because I'm used to them and it feels weird without them, but I've been wearing glasses since I was little. Another person may prefer contacts because they're used to them instead of glasses

It should be mentioned that often contacts improve your vision much better than glasses. And there are conditions under which glasses are no option and you need to wear contacts. It is tiring if you hear others saying "why don't you wear glasses if you have troubles with contact lenses?", when glasses don't help at all.

Funnily enough, my eyes water like crazy with glasses after a few hours but I have zero issues with contacts. Also having peripheral vision is just the best when driving.

I’ve experienced vertigo while driving at high speeds with a poorly made pair of progressive glasses. It was so bad I had symptoms that mirrored BVD. With my new pair that are well made I rarely experience this effect to the point it’s tolerable. With contracts this doesn’t happen at all (so far).

Easy for me to put makeup on when I have contacts in and it also makes it easier for photos rather than me taking my glasses off each time to show my makeup. And since my lens are so thick, there are certain types of frames I can't wear. With contacts, I can buy pretty much any sunglasses 😎 and wear them over 😁 rather than prescription ones.

Easy! Contacts for sports or going out, glasses at home and for work. If you hate both, there’s always laser treatment, at least for moderate myopia.
