Crafting vs re-rolling depends on how much scrip you already have in your stash If you have enough scrip to zero the vendor for a couple of days, then just re-roll the same piece, this guarantees a 3 star piece and you're not filling your stash with stuff you don't want. If you have lots of space, then craft it and then scrip the crap stuff

Bethesda RNG if you want low health...max your health, if you rolling weapons roll rifles on a heavy build :) i do only roll 3-5 items then back out to "reset" RNG but lets face it, you look hard enough you think you see a system thats not there

An advantage of re-rolling over crafting is something I don't think you mentioned: weight. There is only so much legendary scrip you can get in a day, and after that you just have to carry or store the crafted pieces, or destroy them. On a personal note, I can say that years ago when I first got the secret service plans, I got extremely lucky and rolled a full set of three-star unyielding in under 20 tries. That's statistically crazy (though nowadays it would be even more so since Bethesda add a ton of crappy new legendary effects), so it makes me wonder if there has been a bug in the random number generation that was fixed, or if some factor such as the server affected it. Thank you for your painstaking analysis.

I'm convinced that there is a bug when rolling legendaries, at least with weapons. I roll at least a couple things in almost every server I join, more if I notice an effect I want that seems to be dropping more than others, and can say that on at least 2 occasions was in a server where the rng or the server itself was bugged. Both times I rolled about a dozen railway rifles, and both times I got at least 10 out of 12 with Quad. And in both instances, the 2nd and 3rd stars were mostly the same as well. Some may say it's the gambler's fallacy, but if I'm in a server and do an event with a lot of legendary drops like Eviction Notice and see at least 50% of the drops have the same few effects, I can just about guarantee that if I roll stuff those effects will pop up more than anything else. One caveat to this that I've noticed is that if you don't roll soon after getting a lot of drops with the same effects, it changes.

Depending on the gear set, you can just stick the Ultra-Light mod on the pieces and they take up very little weight in the stash.

@@Allegedly_MonkeyYou’re exactly spot on. Every server has a handful of primary effects and traits that it’s favoring at any given time. I used to do 8 or so test rolls in a server and if I didn’t see any of the primary effects I was looking for.. then I would hop lobbies until I started seeing what I wanted. Well, almost a week ago I discovered that you don’t have to hop servers.. just simply getting off.. and right back onto the same bench will give you a new set of primary effects and traits. If you make a deeeep stack of modules.. then you can try to chase several grolls. Another thing.. if you’re seeing a lot of the specific traits you want.. but aren’t seeing much of the primary effects.. then it might still be worth digging into that a little more before you reset your pool. For example.. if I was seeing a lot of explosive and 25AP.. but not much of the preferred primary effects like bloodied, anti armor or vampires.. it still might be worth spending some more modules on that pool in the hopes it might eventually cough up a groll. I spent 650 modules this past Monday and Tuesday night (mostly on enclave epr’s and enclave flamers). In my first 200 modules, I started getting a lot of vampires and anti armor right off the bat and ended up getting a V/25/25 on a perfect mods epr that I traded for a TLC. My middle set of rolls, I was getting mostly two shots and eventually settled on a TS/25FFR/90RW.. my last set, out of 200 or so modules, I got bloodied probably 13-15 times or so if not more. I kept seeing tons of 25FFR and 25AP but I unfortunately couldn’t get that exact combination on one of the 3 big primary effects. I kept getting bloodied, anti armor or vampires with 25FFR or 25AP.. but the last trait would be one of the more worthless ones that would ruin the groll. I also advise on stacking up at least 500-600 modules or more so you can afford the test rolls. It takes some patience.. but it pays off when you start getting the great rolls. Since I employed this strategy, I have gotten at least one full groll each of my last 3 rolling sessions.

If they didn’t have the scrip limit for the day I’d say crafting is the way, however, with the limit in place I just generate to much scrip and end up taking days to get rid of it if I go on a crafting binge so I end up re-rolling.

servers that are full of ppl at high levels upwards of 500+ have always gave me good stuff.. bloodied, twoshot explosive, vampire fast fire.. its quite consistent as well.. empty servers rarely give em good stuff almost all my good stuff came from full servers who were killing SBQ in under 20-30s, earl in under 2 mins.. even eviction notice was recycling 3 3star legendary spawns so fast that i had around 50+ legendary items from just eviction notice out of them 3-4 were keepers..

Before we had public events, the only way to farm legendaries was through player proximity. If two or more players are in a certain proximity of a point of interest like West tek, for instance. And neither player has already killed the enemies in the POI, there is a greater/guaranteed chance of finding legendary enemies. The more players within that proximity, the higher the legendary level will tend to be. Though back then you still wasn't guaranteed a 3* drop from a 3* legendary enemy. So I can see how this would work. The same is true of Eviction Notice right now, the more players, the more legendary spawns and a greater chance of 3* legendary enemies. I can see how this would increase the chance of getting better legendary effects from drops and rolls on a server level if the average player level is much higher. The only place where this doesn't seem to work, is when buying weapons and armor direct from murmugh. But thankfully we don't have to anymore 😅

I used to craft Plasma Casters sometime ago and I was able to get 3 star Caster after crafting... it was cheaper because crafting requires two modules while rerolling 3 stars requires 4 modules... however... last week I attempted the same and after 15 crafted Casters i gave up as I was only able to get 3x3 stars, 5x2stars and 7x1star Casters... ended up spending 2x15modules -> 30modules x 50scripts --> 1500scripts. I got on Monday a 3stars (Mutant, 25% less AP, +50% critical damage) after the 4th re-roll... 4 rolls x 4 modules = 16modules x 50scripts = 800 scripts... Almost half and without having to spend materials scraps on the weapons... maybe it is just a "me" situation... but honestly, it is the third time that happened... so i no longer know if is a feature and they have in fact affected the results after crafting like they inadvertly did with mobs drops... or if it is just my bad luck as usual. It is tru that you can turn over the crafted weapons and get some script back... but 15 casters left me overcumbered and couldnt get rid of them all. I dont know... it seems that something is going on..

I dont know how cores couId be an issue for anyone. I reroll legendaries constantly and have never had less then 4000 cores in the last year or so. I could only surmise that ther are people that never do any events at all and only grind xp at west tek or something.

My mules are the only place where its an issue. My scrip tends to spill over onto my mules and I cba to run events on them all for cores 😅 Legendary crafting is only available for non tradeable weapons and armor

Crafting is better without a question. What i noticed in my 4 years of playing this game, there are servers which drop just crap and others which dont and if you wanna roll 30 prepared Railways and the first 10 were just shit go to another server. Another thing i witnessed (in previous Fallout games too) it seems the game kinda adepts to you, so if youre playing with Quad weapons a lot you have a lil bit higher droprate of getting Quad weapons it seems. Also you forgot poison defense legendary effect, way more important to have at least on armor part with poison than anything else if u dont wanna waste a legendary perk just for poison defense. Three of seven unielding armor i has crafted has rad recovery... two of six secret service armor and the only covert scout i has rolled to unyielding after like rolling alot where i got five covert scout overeater's left arm.. what is the chance of this to really happen in a random generator? Does Bethesda do it on purpose to make it more difficult than pure random? Statistically i got six three star out of those seven unyelding craftings, the other one was two star. I did not think about the rad recovery before today and just though that was a not especially good roll and put them in the stash. I got only one piece with weapon weight reduction and intelligence and that is a good roll in my eyes. But yeah, radiation recovery over time just makes unyielding armor very inconvenient if not useless, i don't think i have patience to use it regulating rads all the time with toxic goo while also keep an eye on the life too with stimpacks. It may be great to have two-three pieces with rad recovery when scorcbeast queen fights in the rad zone itself perhaps, perhaps it actually becomes stable there? lol :) But yeah, i mean, what are the chances of getting three out of seven with rad recovery.. come on.

Imo Scorched Earth is the best event as I seem to always get random stable flux also ijs...also it's good to be able to get some scrip back but the most you get back isn't even enough for 1 legendary module let alone the 4 or 5 you had to use

Expeditions are the king for scrip rn. You get like 5 guaranteed 1-3* items 1-2 modules, 8 scrip and stamps that are tradeable in whitesprings refuge. Also, great for farming ammo there, too, and you get a decent ammo bonus for the equipped weapon on completion Edit: and it can be completed in roughly 6 to 10 minutes depending on the objectives. The only downside is that you don't get flux, but it's super cheap these days anyway if you use any of the trading forums

cores are a non-issue for endgame players, AKA the exact people who would be crafting SS armor. By that point you'll likely have attended so many endgame events that you're swimming in them. Your video literally shows your legendary core count at 970. I've already rerolled 3 armor sets (Excavator, Strangler Heart, SS) until I got them on all on 3-star Overeater's or Unyielding, and I _still_ have 500 cores left. The real issue, as always, is _modules._ Outside of trading for scrip, the only other place to get modules is from SCOREboard rewards, or by farming the Pitt, which nobody likes.

The only issue i see with this is that if you are doing those events you'll have legendaries coming out of your ears, maybe even enough to go into the next god damn day with the limit as it is. With that being the case why would you ever craft instead of reroll? You're getting that daily scrip limit regardless. This only works out within a vacuum where you are not playing the game in any real capacity as nowadays it just throws legendries at you in abundance. One eviction notice is all it takes for example. The only real benefit i see here is actually for others if you decide to dump your overabundance of legendaries into a communal stash like the blue suitcase at white spring station.

Everything is always orangey. I want your crafting I’m gonna still orangey, but there is one way to get three stars and that’s the craft, the types of armor that only come in three stars then you’re guaranteed a three star but bad armor can’t be rolled so if you don’t get what you want, you just have to craft again.

I was just thinking I was unlucky. I have been trying to craft some armor and basically run through the materials as fast as I can get them trying to get at least a couple of good rolls. I have probably rolled 100+ times now and have yet to get a single good roll. I am using some ok those will work rolls equipped and I keep trying as I can. I was doing basically the same for a while with guns and decided it was time to try armor for a while since I had a couple I like but not exactly what I want. Just makes me wonder how long it will take to get a good plasma caster also.

Awesome Video. Simple way the "issue" is always over looked imo. We are dealing with a human brain. Brain is good at a lot of things, one thing not so much. False Pattern Recognition. RNG is RNG. people who found a way, or had a good series of rolls somewhere, it is just a sign of our awesome brains. flip a coin 10 times, heads every time, brain will say 11th has to be heads, or if it is tails their brain could see it as proof they were tricked and cheated on purpose. Coins (rng) dont have motives. Good job on the math side. only thing i would say, it is again numbers, the RNG doesnt know you want overeaters or unyeilding or nocturnal or anything. i rolled 15 uny in a row before, and no uny for 100 rolls before. Brain says the game is rewarding me, or punishing me... false pattern recognition. RNG is RNG. do 1 billion rolls, the math would be basically exactly what % of possible rolls there are. even then, it wouldnt be exact, cause it can never be exact. but, after 1 billion, you wouldnt see 95% nocturnal and 5% unyeilding. that isnt how rng works.

Certain items can only be crafted. Certain items can be crafted or made legendary. They can only be rolled once they drop their different functions, although they overlap a little lotta competition between them

Both ways are trash for me. It is not RNG right now,better known rolls dropping less than others,same as trash drops from the events,seems they been working on that after lifted possibilities to get more modules.First crafting days was better.Just re-rolled 50 auto axes and no one was a Vampire's.Later get to custom worlds for free crafting to see maybe it is a legacy now😂 So did around 20 auto axes and re-rolled them all. Some first Vampire's was after 56 re-rolls second one after 116 later 65 later was better after 15-30 re-rolls was getting a garbage Vampire's Only one was 40 40 mostly trash. Stopped re-roll in real and taked a ticket. If we all speak loud and more about that,maybe one nice day they will make something better in crafting to us...

Right when I was trying to make my mom all the poison power armor said I can’t think what it’s called I did not have the same kind of walk I had with the Secret Service at reading. I have lots of failures and so you end up running out of straight plus you’re using extra resources that you have to buy separately the vault steel, so again once I got all the gases Freestar, I am not entirely sure that’s what I did because been along time but I’m sure that I I might actually have pizzas. I am still going to try and re-rolling. If you can do it with that armor class I haven’t played in a while, I can already sure the consensus is grafter you get a three star beef sandwich rolls are you get the first second or third star to be exactly what you want

The point is to never allow you to be satisfied so you keep playing. This is why there are daily limits. It's a scam operating on top of a legitimate game. If they think too many people are "set" they will introduce nerfs, new currency, and a new meta that the former will serve. They have a business model based on subscription, which is about retention.

I rolled up a god roll, vampire and anti-armor of the shredder chainsaw the autoaxe and the rest are handy to do some gas, so I wanted vampires and Manti armor to see what the bedroom closet age and I wanted one of each of those with both yet, all off anti-armor power attack, chainsaw, brand stats, vampire, power, attack, chainsaw, and then on the strand and the same for autoaxe and Mr. handy because power jacket the thing you want on those whopper on the shredder you want Bashan with anti-or Andorra, I may not in front or vampire so I wanted to just all four of those weapons with both alternative and I took forever RG wise to get that shit Garza with free dental which is what that part of the platform is really four so you can go test shit and it doesn’t use up all your resources so you can build your camp figure out how to do it all the little idiosyncrasies and then go back on the regular server and do it so you don’t wait free start and it took forever for me to get what was basically a permutation drone for weapons I mean to reach for forever orangey sucks. Your dick truly just comes down to be an incredibly lucky if you get what you want.

I am thing in fallout 76 that shit Balut bowl are the amount oh perks you can get on an item so cool that your crafting from with just one Keith is too big so getting the first star you want. It’s already difficult enough getting a second spire you want it was even worse, getting the third star is there a possible and then you run up against a lack of resources because you’re only allowed a certain amount then you’re a run up against the method of getting rid of your failed pieces because you’re only allowed a certain amount of scrap which day you’re Only allowed a certain amount of camps. If you just fell into the vendor, you can only put a certain amount of it in your stash for storage. I mean you’re limited it but love the way fallout 76 is a fun game, but it is not consumer friendly it’s not friendly to the game, or it has Germany currency and Germany limits to. How are you use those currency

The fact remains that if you were a roll of three Sarapes, you can make sure to fill a great David ING is still going to determine watching those three stars, the same RMG, exact same RMG that determines once in those three stars when your grandpa and get a three star P so crafting in any decent size sample group is never going to be at the backfield as getting that first three star, Henry rolling it till you get what you want Because many of the pizzas your craft won’t end up being three stars if you wanna ensure that and gestures cramping Brown, Thorne armor or Rob Bob blah what are the hell over the other side is and you’ll always get a three star button that has a tone expensive belt that Jeff Avenue, Bob Bob Steele at least now you can buy massive amounts of all steel you don’t have to server hopper get all five digits or whatever it was a false till over and over again you come I think you can buy like 501.
