I’ve never been opposed to e-bikes but seeing how you almost effortlessly went up the climbs made me want one so bad

Dude its about time and fit. Ebikes arent for xc if you look for the enduro ride type and you dont have time for train and ride often ebike gives you x3 times the ride than a normal in one hour, and you can go to work next day like brand new. They are amazing

Glad to see you back on a bike Syd! Hope the ebike makes riding attainable again for you while you recover. I got mine recently and I love it!

In the side-by-side videos going down Breaking Bad, it is totally noticeable that the WFO is much smoother and planted....there is less vibration going through your arms to your chest. Great video!

next time you go to pajarito you should try riding up one of the ski runs or following the lift route riding right under it. and man the timing of those jumps 13:30

This is the second or third channel that I subscribe to that has done reviews on ebikes. I really think these bikes should be promoted strongly. Beginners wanting to go on rides with their friends won't get their legs ripped off, commuters should love them, and well, going uphill like that for a mountain biker and not having to wait for a lift is perfect.

Interesting test. The more slacked seems to have the edge but is also heavier and less nimble. I found myself often doing faster times on my Levo than my Kenevo on many trails.
@mathewmccabe26583 жыл бұрын
Do you still own both? Which do you prefer?
@abelramos86523 жыл бұрын
@@mathewmccabe2658 depend on the trails men. On the real world like i said the Levo is faster. On bikeparks the Kenevo. Currently i own a Pivot Shuttle and its a better (and faster) bike than both Spe. Dont get obsessed with that brand they are good but not the best and pricey. The new e reign, is a blast and its cheaper dont squeeze your brain. Rocky Mountain, YT, Moondraker … theres a lot of good ebikes out there

Thanks for the video. I’m looking at both of these bike and trying to decide which one will be better for me but I noticed the bikes you were riding have totally different suspension, drivetrains and brakes than what Niner has them spec’d at. I’m guessing you did some serious upgrades??
@sydandmacky4 жыл бұрын
We ride for Shimano/Fox so we built them up with sponsor-correct parts... That being said, the builds they spec with are pretty nice!

Nice, though without an ebike doing laps with a 27min climb sounds hectic. Also, Syd singing (?) in the background at 06:58 is great

What’s the difference in average heart rate between these bikes and non electric assist bikes?
@georgedoolittle75744 жыл бұрын
These are basically 2 stroke enduro motocross so big time work outs with greatly elevated risk factor. I picked up a pair of used Bobblebe Packs for back protection and I would in fact add a motocross helmet to protect your chin. These are an amazing new class of machines and will definitely put their bike shop skills to the test. And camera skills too..

Depends how hard you go. You can definitely still go hard if you want to but if you don't want to you can just boost the setting up to Turbo!
@wamote68674 жыл бұрын
On the eMTB i have the same power output (Watts and heart rate) like on the indoor trainer, on the pedal bike my heart rate is a little bit higher, because there is no way to get it down if you go uphill. But with pushing more on the eBike, it's no problem to get the same.

I of course had heard of Niners. I like them. You guys speak highly. A bit rare and boutiquey here in Calgary and Vancouver. Was this close to buying a Trek Rail 7 or 9.7. Saw these yesterday advertised local shop for 31 % (WFO) and 38% off for the RIP ($5,999 CDN)!!!! Tough call. Am confused now. Haha. Seriously considering one of these.... Unsure which one.... The WFO ($6,889 CDN)..... These bikes are TANKS!!!!!!

This kind of helped think about which kind of bike to get but still need to ride a bigger suspension bike to feel it in different situations if that makes sense. I don't have the need for a 180mm bike because of the riding I would do but just wonder if it would help me feel better at the end of the day having the extra plushness.
@sydandmacky4 жыл бұрын
Definitely an argument to be made there!
@nickcutler73714 жыл бұрын
So you note the difference in climb time between the two bikes and the feel but considering there is a decent focus on range of the bikes, did you notice that the longer travel bike expended more battery to do the same climbs? I would expect similar to the human on a normal bike who has to expend slightly more energy to pedal longer travel platforms, that the motor of an ebike would have to expend more battery life to do the same. It helps that both of these bikes have the same battery/motor/drive train so it purely comes down to the suspension efficiency.
@sydandmacky4 жыл бұрын
To be honest, it was hard to tell. Since there isn't a battery percentage meter (just a battery thing that shows 5 bars) it's hard to know exactly how much was used for each climb. I also think that you can probably go a bit farther on the RIP than the WFO on one charge, but don't have specific proof.

@@sydandmacky ah cool, thanks for the response. I am not in on the e-mtb scene but local shop owner says theres tons of cool apps that can integrate with the units and layer in extra data in to strava etc that will really let you deep-dive in to your numbers. I am sure proper info is just a google away.
