Thanks for putting this video together. I see most people just use 0.1 and 0.15 nickel strip. But I need to tack 0.3 on to a V250H that came without any tags. It seems the red one is more consistent and more powerful. Many on eBay have 5 9 or 30 ‘gears’ but don’t define power output in any compatible way.

Hello Rice, I got other version of this board that has 10 mosfets. Using it with 5200mah 40c LiPo. After welding 2 batteries, the multi-coloured level indicator LED stopped, and the 2nd green blinking light is now glowing constantly whenever I plug the battery. Now it welds no more. What could have happened? Do you know how to fix? Thank you.

These need upgrades before you use them and just letting the voltage get low will burn out a mosfet or the controller chip because they are on the same circuit most people separate the controller board on the red one with another 12 volt supply they add a cap on the ones that need it and they mount the wires on the same post instead of using the traces like in this video

The second one (red one) works well. Look up 18650 spot welder on eBay, they are under $30.

Are any of these good for .15 pure nickel without slotting the nickel. Most all i have found are only good for up to .12 pure nickel or .1. Were you using pure or plated steel nickel

im not sure if what im using is pure but its .15mm and the weld is holding well.

@@ricevelasquez scratch it and sand it. Then soak it in a strong salt solution for a day. Shouldnt take long to see the rust. You can also hit them with a metal grinder and look for sparks. Steel sparks and pure nickel doesn't cause its not ferous.

you pressed to much first one, and on the second one you used soft surface, that is why second one welds better. No need to force press it, just push it light and it will create better welds

I have one of these but mine doesn't come with a capacitor and then buzzer fixed and they didn't include a capacitor can you please tell me the values of the capacitor

Amp hours is not important, amps is. You need a 12v battery with 100-200 cranking amps

@@atvking535 considering it's a extremely short burst anyway, most lead acid batteries will be able to push enough amps for this application. There is no need to pay too much for the battery.

@@achannelhasnoname5182 you are 100% wrong most of these burn out because of a big or good enough battery just letting the batteries get low blows mosfets and the controller chip 2 to 300 amps min and keep it charged and i would suggest all the upgrades also

Come on beeps when I touch the nickel strip with the pen but does not weld what did I do wrong I I know that I assembled it correctly and I have it connected to a 12 volt battery (12.6v 3s LI ion battery pack)

Not so cheap anymore, the spot welder kit cost 30 usd on Amazon plus extra cost for Lipo battery and charger. Might as well buy portable spot welders like BIFRC for 55 usd.
