Yeah, hope you feel better soon dude! Really thorough job on this one, the only thing I think you didn’t touch on is the ethical/sustainability angle of the materials; hopefully a lot of these companies are using recycled plastics but I don’t know, I haven’t looked into it. And a lot of people nowadays wouldn’t want to use animal based products either.

Thank you, Andy. The information and guidelines were very helpful. When I was at the store trying out my first guitar 4 years ago, I selected a pick because it was red and had a maple leaf on it. LOL. Isn't that the best reason to get a bag of picks when one is Canadian?!

I'm also a Canadian but I own zero Maple Leaf picks lol

At this time I like the V Pick Tradition UL which is .8mm it feels much like medium Celluloid but is a bit stiffer because it is acrylic but is not as slick in your hand…with heat of your hand they stick to your hand but are not actually sticky. I have some others coming tomorrow and will see what they are like. Sorry to hear about your accident…Hope you are doing well.

I do like the JP Jazz III, but it also invites people to say “Can you play like Petrucci brah?? Can you alternate pick The Glass Prison arpeggios!?!?” It’s just a pick, dude. Anyway, that wouldn’t stop me, but once I discovered normal ultex Jazz III’s I switched because they have better grip than the JP’s.

Arthritic hands here, been througha billion types and even experimenting on creating some of my own, I need grip first and foremost so shiny pics are nightmare, textured are ok, Dava pics are good as you can hold them easy with rubber coating and depending where you hold they're both hard and medium at same time

Ultex fan here, Jazz 3 1.38mm and Flow 2mm are my go-to. I tried the nylon Jazz 3 and it just didn't work for me. Tried maaaaaany over the years.

I'm kind of a Tortex fanboy, been using them since the start.
