I agree with you 100%, I have the 3 of them and the 1080 is the most comfortable of the three and the only one that doesn’t hurt my feet because of the surgery that I have had in them.

The #1 New Balance shoe in 2024 has to be the 860 v14 as it's a killer shoe. I've got the 1080 too, but have flat feet and over pronate so the 860s structure and medial support is terrific. The energy return is heaps better too. It has a unique feel to it, not too firm or soft, perfect for me. I found the 1080 V13 too soft and causing my weight to transfer painfully to my hip and lower back. They also have a narrow toe box (forces the big toe in towrds the other's) and an unstable heel when striking the ground. The 860 has the widest toe box I've seen this far.

I have 2 pairs of the 860s each with around 100 miles on them. Great choice for those with a slight over pronation.

I have 880 and 860. 880 gave me pain after a long day so I switched to 860 for all day comfort. Save time and money and go directly to 860. 1080 would be way too soft and instant pain.

I have the 1080v13 and 880v14. love the comfort king 1080 and using 880 for daily work (inserted a new balance support insole and it's almost the same comfort with the 1080) but 1080 still wins overall.

I found your channel two days ago looking up this topic. I knew they couldn’t all be the same fresh foam x across the low price to 1080 range. Videos from a while back, and another update. I was a long time 1080 user that switched to 880 when they got the fresh foam remake in 2016 or so. I haven’t been happy with the 880 for a few years, and after a good experience with the 1080 unlaced I got on sale last year, I’m going back to the 1080 as my preference. I have not used the 880v14 though.

I am your parents age....I have develope top of foot pain. Want light weight but one that keeps my foot stable. Plus, I've been walking on hardwood floors too long. Want comfy. What do you think ....between the 1080 and the 880

imo if you want more stable shoes for not just walking.. standing as well like as in doing chores. 880 looked like the mid ground. i have 1080 it really is great for walking. but after standing for a while like 10-15 mins the unstableness starting to coming in.

i tried 1080 it is very soft but i think it is really bad for standing for hours. this is more fitting to be used as a walking/ sitting shoes when you stopped walking for lets just say 10 minutes i felt like it starting to be not stable. i'd rather walk rather than standing on it.

X80 means neutral running shoe. X60 means stability. So the 1080 and the 880 are both neutral. I actually like the 880 more because there is less of a squish. I think they went overboard with the 1080 this year. It’s too stress ball.

I have a foot size of almost 27 cm and average foot width 10.4 cm usually i wear size US 10 in Nike pegasus and invincible (wide) and Brooks glycerin 21 gts in size 10 2E . Will size US 10 and width 2E fit me in 1080v13 and rebelv4?

My sizing ref. (all in normal width) Peg 40 = 10.5US Invin3 = 10.5US Glycerin 21 = 10.5US For 1080 V13 I preferred mine in 2E version because the toe box really tapered at the end , mine is 10US 2E , it fits me perfectly. In case of Rebel V4, the toe box is quite roomy when compared to 1080 v13 so I stick to my normal size which is 10.5US in normal width. I think for rebel v4, 10US 2E will fit you just fine but you might consider half size down in 1080 if you want to get the 2E version. Hope this is helpful for you.

860 v14 is the best by far. 880 is trash, and 1080 is good if you like a squishier softer feel.

What’s wrong with the 880? I tried the 860 today and they felt amazing. They just didn’t have my color so I’m ordering online

@@joemomma707 I was probably unfair to call the 880 trash. But the midsole seems to be less soft and generally inferior to the 860 or the 1080. Probably some people do better with the firmer midsole of the 880. The 860 is a very comfortable shoe to just walk around in. It also does surprisingly well at faster paces, sprinting, because it is so stable and compliant. I am finding that it feels surprisingly harsh to me at slow paces, but that may just be because of my particular biomechanics. I kind of wish that I had gone with the Saucony Ride 17 instead because of that.

Just watched the Ben Parkes review and have to say I believe what he has to say much more for an average runner, he talks much more about the running aspects while you seem to be more focuaed on the standing/walking/tech specs and all in all this review feels somewhat fake maybe even biased towards both 1080 and NB in general.
