I will answer this question. I bought four different juicers, paying over $1000 in the long drawn out process. several years later, I came to realize that I didn't need any juicer. The solution? Juice bags, two for under ten dollars. And a good blender like a vitamix. Now I just toss what I want to juice in the blender, add a little water, not much, and dump all in the juicer bag and squeeze out the juice over a stainless steel or glass bowl. works perfectly every time. Please don't be sucked into buying ANY juicer, just get a vitamix or any other professional blender, and a couple of juice bags. It is a quicker process as well. Now I have juicers collecting dust on my kitchen rack.

@alwaysbeyourself93285 жыл бұрын
I've owned 3 of the juicer types, and while the centrifugal is fast (I have a Breville), the twin gear (mine is a Green Star Elite) produces the highest quality of juice BY FAR which matters a lot to me, it tastes a lot better to me, and lasts longer in my refrigerator. My vertical juicer (Hurom) produced fairly decent juice but it failed after about a year and the company won't fix it because the model is obsolete.

I really enjoy this video. I like the 6 months ago Artur's comments. Thanks Artur. i will go for Angel 8500s as plastic does not last and wore out eventually but stainless steel does last. Also the yield is highest so in the long run you get what you pay for. Thinking of using organic veggies not wasted this way. I do not mind it's slow but it produces less foam.

Great video. I love how you did the comparisons without trying to act like a “salesman” showing bias towards one particular juicer. That was a great juice off you did. Just to comment on juicing you did with the centrifugal juicer with the grapes, if you notice the liquid at the bottom looked very clear and watery not only because of the foam but also the result of heat build up from the fast RPMs of the juicer which causes more oxidation. That’s why I prefer slow juicers. You get much more quality juice as far as nutrients. I just subscribed. Loved your video. Great job!
@euJUICERScom3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind comments. We try to be as objective as possible. We also highly recommend slow juicers in most cases, except perhaps for citrus, which usually has enough ascorbic acid to lessen oxidation.

One juicer you didn't test was a centrifugal juicer that holds the pulp inside. These juicers really give a good yield because it keeps the pulp inside so it has more time to extract the juice, rather than spitting the pulp out, once the pulp is out, you're not getting anymore juice. The disadvantage is, you can't juice continually for a large number of people, it will clog and bog down the juicer if you juice too much, but for one or two people it's fine.

I really appreciate the effort you put in! Great review! If I may comment on the approach, the total mass juice + pulp should be equal for each one, which is not the case. It seems like part of the pulp was not recovered. Furthermore, you can’t tell if the higher amount of pulp is due to less extraction or better filtration. I would just use a strainer to ensure that all juices have the same or similar texture, weight the juice and assume the rest is pulp. The pulp strained from the juice shows how much fiber is there, which is a good indicator of the juice quality. Everyone has a different taste. ;)
@euJUICERScom4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your very insightful comment. We totally agree, and decided after this that any future testing would include straining the pulp.

Great video, didn't know how much better quality juice comes out of the twin gear system than the auger-types. If there was ever a desire to do this test again, I'd strain any remaining pulp from the juice as an additional metric. Some juicers leave a ton of pulp in the juice while others don't. It can artificially inflate juice yields if you don't account for pulp.
@euJUICERScom4 жыл бұрын
Yes we will definitely strain the juice the next time we run a similar comparison, for the reason you mentioned.

I haven't even finished this video yet but, wow! What an incredible review. I literally cancelled my juicer mid-review that I'd ordered on Amazon that resembled the first one. It was inexpensive but the amount of wasted juice left in the pulp, long term, would cost me so much money I could easily just pay for a more expensive one instead and get my money's worth in the long run. Furthermore, you tested a soft fruit, fibrous fruit, hard vegetable and greens. The measurement of the juice and pulp was so telling... the chart comparisons... really, you have outdone yourself and this is a gem on the internet when it comes to juicer reviews. Thank you for taking the time to do this and well done!

I would say the quality is similar or better than the Kuvings which costs 3 times as much. I paid about 150 dollars which is cheap if you live in Scandinavia. First, I'd like to mention that *_I've personally had 3 different types of juicers_* : centrifugal which is a "garbage" type of juicer, then I've had an upright single auger Omega VERT which was okay, and now I have an *_Angel_* twin gear juicer which is by far *_the best_* AND worth every penny. I did a taste test between the Omega VERT and the Angel using the same carrots as the test medium. And wow.... the juice from the VERT, which cost me $400+, *_tasted bitter and not very sweet_* . The Angel, which cost me $1200, *_produced sweet and NOT bitter juice_* , that tasted completely different. That was amazing! And the yield was also completely different. On average, *_I got between 30% to 40% more juice_* from the Angel comparing to the VERT over a 2 week period; a friend came over for a couple of weeks for a juice fast and during that time, we make a number of comparisons between both juicers. The Angel is by far the best and WORTH the money. I've now owned the Angel for *_over 7 years_* , and it's showing NO signs of wear or tear, except for the rubber ring needing replacement on the plunger, which just crapped out the other day. And just to mention, we juice fast every Friday, using our juicer weekly. And to be honest, centrifugal juicers oxidize the juice ( *_turning it brown due to the aeration_* ) and are *_the worst_* at the yield, wasting your produce. *_Don't waste your money on a centrifugal juicer_* .

True the Super Angel juicer is the juicer to buy if juicing for life,other juicers plastic parts break, as I found on my new Omega verts that I bought new, two of them the Super Angel is over ten years old, its hard to juice pineapples tho due to foaming, I mix apples and carrots and veggies 8n to minimize that effect, add lemon to preserve the juice for 3 days.

Based on your experience, is it difficult to clean?
@aurelio-reymilaorcabal96692 жыл бұрын
@@overcomer3982 The Super Angel is by far the easiest to clean, thereare less than 5 major parts, the main machine , the 2 gears, the screen and splash cover , and the wooden pusher which I dont even use as I normally use a carrot as my pusher, the machine is so simple compared to any other juicer, even the $350 Omega single auger Horizontal juicer was my First is a joke in comparison, . I bought two Omega Verts from a pawnshop for $150 each( I thought they were a good deal then), they were new in a box, never been used , both of them broke within a year and a half of every other day use, no regrets buying the Super Angel, which cost me $1200 Canadian 10 years ago , today they are $1500 or more in the USA.

At: 0:24 - There are "best" juicers when considering yield, materials for a given use or need.
@euJUICERScom4 жыл бұрын
You're right. For specific criteria, an objectively measured "best" can usually be determined. It's when weighing other factors that the determination can become less clear. For example, the Angel is clearly the best for yield. But factoring in the price and longer cleaning time can affect the purchasing decision.

The Green Gtar Pro is similar to the Angel, and a very good juicer. Pineapple can be problematic in any juicer, even a vertical. A juicer with a coarse screen will help. Also cutting it into smaller pieces and using slightly underripe pineapples.

Thanks for a great comparison video. It's a few years old now, but still very relevant as the tech hasn't really changed since. Just refreshing my memory on them as my mother could do with a juicer. I remember your videos finally convincing me to upgrade to an Angel about 10 years ago... and a friend subequently bought one from you too after using mine. There is no doubt the juice quality and quantity is the best having owned every type of juicer over about 30 years and I've always been glad I spent the extra for a lifetime investment of the highest quality juice. Wringing out that last few % of juice adds up to significantly more mineral salts, vitamins, phytonutrients etc being squeezed out of the fibre at a cellular level... which is big deal to me as the point of it is the health benefits as much as enjoyable drinks. When I found the data online of how much more minerals etc you get from an Angel vs other juicers it was astonishing and that was what totally sold me on the upgrade. You can taste the difference without even needing to see the data. The Angel silicon pusher is so much better for juicing everything that it's default for me. Using it daily I have to order a replacement £15 pusher every couple of years as the silcon eventually wears, but that's a minor consumables cost for the ease and speed of juicing benefit it gives. Also the Angel has a soft fruit screen available (for pineapple, melon, tomato etc) which I didn't buy at first, but when I subsequently got it I kicked myself for not getting to begin with. 😆 Worth noting as well that if you're into celery juices the Angel is easier and faster than other slow juicers as it feeds through so quickly and it also doesn't need to be cut into smaller chunks first which saves preparation time/hassle. It used to bug me having to do that every time with a vertical/horizontal as a straight celery juice is a daily for my morning regime. I juice a litre of celery every morning in 11 minutes without rushing... this INCLUDES the time to wash the celery, assemble the machine, do the juicing and the washing up. The Angel is not noticeably slower to me once you get into the routine of using it. The trick to juicing carrots is to make your life easier by simply buying the smaller one's in the first place as they are easier to push through than the large one's you were doing. 😉

I suspect the best way may be to vacuum blend the food, put it in a cotton cheesecloth, and press using a hydraulic fruit press (as opposed to the horizontal wheel-turning press you may have seen elsewhere) to squeeze out the juice.

What's the best juicer for cruciferous vegetables? Ie. Kale, spinach, parsley, chard, rhubarb, watercress, etc.
@euJUICERScom5 жыл бұрын
You will get the best yield from the twin gear. Second choice would be the horizontal single auger for those types of ingredients.

Hard items are for Juicers , soft items for a blenders. After researching I'm thinking just eat good food at the right amount , at the right time , exercise , no alcohol , no drugs, plenty of sleep = great life !

one question. I have an old Champion and mostly juice lots of greens along with apples, celery, lemon (meyer with the peel), ginger etc. Not much carrot. Does anyone have a comment on how that compares with the Angel Twin Gear or the other horizontal reviewed in this video? Thinking about upgrading but it needs to really be worth it and an actual upgrade. Thanks!
@euJUICERScom5 жыл бұрын
Hi Linda You would see a big difference going from a Champion to a slow juicing machine like an Angel or a horizontal or vertical single auger juicer. The Champion runs at a very high speed and has similar pros and cons to a centrifugal machine, with the added benefit of being great for sorbet and OK for nut butter. I wrote an article going in to more detail about it here: www.eujuicers.com/magazine/what-if-a-juicer-and-a-blender-had-a-baby

For mainly fruits, we recommend a vertical juicer like the Omega MMV or Sana 828. If you will be juicing a lot of greens and vegetables, we prefer a horizontal juicer like the Sana 707. The Angel is a good juicer and will get the highest yield, but costs much more than the others and takes a little longer to clean.

Switch out angel for tribes half the price just as good and has an attachment for softer fruit and veg also run pulp through twice

Could you please tell me the important differences between Vidia VTG-001 twin gear and Sana 707? I can't decide which to buy, since Vidia is double gear it should produce more juice? Which one would you recommend? Can both of them make butter, sorbets, pasta and be upgraded with the part for oil-producing?
@euJUICERScom3 жыл бұрын
While twin-gear juicers typically produce more juice than single-auger juicers, the yield with the smaller twin-gear juicers like the Vidia and Omega isn't significantly more. The extra time required to assemble and clean a twin gear, as well as the extra force needed to feed produce into them, makes a good single-auger juicer like the Sana 707 a better choice for most people.

I find that with slow juicers the pulp gets stuck inside the machine. causing things to jam, then I have to stop clear the obstruction, and then I can continue.
@euJUICERScom3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the type of slow juicer, and what is being juiced. Big culprits are fibrous produce like pineapple and celery. Cutting them into smaller pieces breaks up the fiber strands and helps prevent jams. Also adding a carrot during the process helps to clean out the juicer.

There is one thing that you could have done. You could dehydrate each of the produce and weigh it to see what the difference is in water content. That would give you a standard to compare with. One other thing that you did not say was that seeds can rupture the screen in the Omega Juicer. Also, when Omega retires a model (takes it off of the market), you can not get parts for that model any more.
@charlesclements43505 жыл бұрын
That would be a nice feature to have. The question that remains is that will the parts always be available or would they pull the parts from the market the way Omega did theirs?

Excellent Video! One thing about the pulp issue especially with the greens. The most expensive twin gear juicer while it had the less amount of pulp did you notice the condition of the juice? The juice was lumpy like a milkshake where the single auger juice was much thinner more like something you could easily drink. So while the twin auger gives a higher yield it is thick. There is less pulp in the ejection cup because that pulp was smashed by the twin gears and ended up in the juice. In my view the twin auger has failed here and oddly at what it is supposed to do best. I feel confident in saying that the single auger is the best slow juicer but the vertical auger can perhaps do better at some things but not greens. Additionally, where the single horizontal auger had problems with the pineapple like the guy said just run something else through with the pineapple juice few people just juice one thing anyway and why not? So the single auger rocks and rules, just like most people say. Perhaps that’s why it’s the best selling and most popular juicer... Oh yes, why in the heck would anyone buy a centrifugal juicer? Like he said perhaps that’s why they are in the garage …
@euJUICERScom7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insightful comments. I think centrifugals are usually most people's entry point into juicing, because they are much more affordable. Personally in my experience, once I tried the single auger horizontal, there was no going back. In fact, my centrifugal finally made the trip from the garage to the electric recycling center last week.
@L.J.017 жыл бұрын
Funny, I started with a Champion about 30 years ago, went to a Juice Man (both centrifugal) and finally tried the two single auger verts I mentioned above which I hated. I was ready to go back to the highest end centrifugal that I could find (kind of like going full circle); but maybe I'll try a horizontal auger like the Omega. There is simply nothing like the speed and efficiency of the centrifugal though. ;-)
@euJUICERScom7 жыл бұрын
It's a difficult decision. Nothing will match the speed of the centrifugal, especially with the amount of juice that you make. On the other hand, if you're storing the juice for later you can't avoid the oxidation that will occur. The juice from a horizontal will keep most of its nutrition 24 hours if you refrigerate it - even more if you store it in a vacuum bottle.

For a centrifugal juicer (which I have) - you can run the pulp again through it to extract more juice - still taking less time than a masticating juicer. Just curious if you tested that in any of your videos. Great video, BTW!
@euJUICERScom3 жыл бұрын
We typically don't run the pulp through a second time. You're right - more juice can be extracted if the pulp is run through again, especially with citrus.
