Need to make a correction folks. The drone for Newage does detach and you can detach the wheels on the trailer to make him mobile like the Magic Square and you can store stuff in the wheel compartment just like MP44. Totally forgot about that feature. Thank you.

It's a no-brainer for me. Magic Square all day long. He truly is one of, if not THE best G1 cartoon Primes ever made. I love this rivalry between NA and MS, always pushing each other to make even greater figures. What a glorious time to be a legends collector!

FINALLY, THE COMPARISON I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR Edit: I am gonna get the newage, it’s like the Doomsday vs Agenemon or whatever TF he is. Magic square looks better and is more accurate, but Newage is more premium and uses better stuff.

I got both and I’d definitely recommend magic square over newage. Bigger and more accessories, longer proportionate arms, and the unlimited articulation just makes this so much fun to mess with.

M.S. killed it on the 2.0!!!! They win for accessories, trailer, cab of alt mode sculpt, bot mode sculpt, and articulation. N.A. almost always gonna have better paint and feel, but M.S. is so much better sculpt and everything else that I can forgive the paint and feel. If I collected legends I'd definitely go M.S. 2.0 for my O.P.

You really think NA is more toon accurate?? The common consensus I'm seeing, and I agree with wholeheartedly, is that it's MS which is more toon accurate. I mean it's probably the MOST toon accurate Prime :)

I've been on the fence about which figure I should buy for the past month. As cool as it would be to own both, This video gave me my definitive choice Magic sqaure is just so much better all around, the lack of paint means hes better for play like jobby would say, cleaner vehicle mode back (newage feet jsut juttting out looks awful), he's more posable, he has better accessories, his proportions (while fairly wide) just fit prime so well. I can't wait to order him off showZ and use the points to help buy another magic square figure later on. I'll be more than happy to have this company be my intrance into the 3rd party side of things

I have both, I was expecting it to be a clear win for MS 2.0 but in the flesh, MS 2.0's poor paint, cheap plastic, lack of heft, and general build quality make MS 2.0 both not nearly as satisfying to handle nor display. For me, Newage wins by a mile.

@@olivergould5428 thanks for the reply. From others I've heard that MS 2.0 is very durable, but I've also heard that it feels fairly cheap like you mentioned. As for it David being a better display model, I can definitely see why would ne thanks to all the paint and higher plastic quality. But for me, I'm getting this figure to play with, not to display, so that's probably why the lack of paint and odd material won't bug me. But we'll see when I actually get him in hand

I like both. I have NA H27F DAVID ver ( because I prefer more the trailer from MS OP ver 2.0 ) and I'll wait a bit for MS 2.0 Prime to see if decide for the metallic version or toon. Nice review as always :)

MS-B46 all the fricking way. I have it now as my first legend fig and it’s the pinnacle of my entire TF collection. 9.9/10! Only few complaints are minor stuff like the backpack, truck bed and the use of silver vs grey, since the cartoon was always flat colors. The nylon matte look really sells the cartoon feel. No fake parts at this scale blows me away. If you’re doing accurate G1 prime, you gotta do it all the way. NewAge’s version is not bad for the most part, but compared to MS, it’s left in the dust for me.

Even if the articulation was like TE-01, it would still be my favorite, but with that articulation it’s like a huge bonus.

NA still blows me away in how it looks like a shrunken MP-44. I do wish it did the same thing with the front hip skirts as MP-44 and the Magic Square did here. But I'll end up with both of them - NA as my mini MP and MS as the fun to pose knew. One thing, I don't care about the accessories since 90% will go in a baggie, if not more.
