hey man, apprechiate all the work u put in these videos, and I'm hopeful S2 will have some system changes. As for the points: - Instant Block does need some tuning. The secondary benefits of IB (meter gain, chip and risc reduction) are very small, while the primary gain of reducing pushback doesn't come into use aside from using them on string enders with specials that are already minus enough. Using IB mid pressure before the ender is not rewarding enough and it doesn't force the opponent to look out for it. The frame traps the opponent is doing will still work on IB, the backdash and jump baits will also still work whether u IB or not, and if the move you IB is plus then you put yourself in a worse situation then if u normal block. Having it reduce blockstun by a couple of frames would work well, while still not completely nullifying the opponent's offense. - IFD (Instant Faultless Defense) tho is IMO pretty strong and rewarding as is. In most situations it puts u to safety to get out of range of any 5D or throw mix up, and to get out of plus frame cS and many 2Ks and 2Ds. If the opponent is specifically looking out for IFD they would have to adjust their string and overreach with long range moves or but dashing for longer etc, so it does force them to change up their offense and adapt. FD macro should also just make it easier to use. - Damage is high yeah but idk if reducing damage would help. The game is clearly designed to have fast rounds and I don't think having longer rounds where u would have to wall break 2 or 3 times on average to win a round would improve the game. - I disagree on the throw RC thing. They already nerfed throw RC by having PRC come out if u land a throw, and not just when it whiffs, so that took out PRC option selects. If u are to RC throws they'd have to be on reaction to them whiffing (in which case the opponent would have almost recovered from a backdash or maybe gotten out of the way after jumping). Or you can commit to the OS and RC with the throw for safety, in which case you can still continue the PRC combo after the throw but with significant damage scaling. And u said u can't RC DPs as a comparison, when you def can on hit or block. It only is not possible on whiff, and it is much harder to make DPs whiff then it is to block them in safe jumps etc. The same tiered risk reward also applies to throws: If u want to definitively beat throws you always have a 5f throw protection window to mash (aside from post guard crush) that takes away their RC protection option. If u want a later reaction option u can backdash or jump and those will be safe from throw RC if they are RCing on reaction to a whiffed throw. If they are inputting throw with RC as an OS regardless of whether it hits or not, then yeah it can beat ur escape backdashes, and put in a tough 50/50 if u jumped the throw on whether they'll air throw u or anti air with an attack. Interesting read man, you have a point for the RC throw, perhaps it's something I need to work on personally to overcome, Do you feel like the window to pull of IB and IBFD should be extended to make it easier to pull off?

@@Bachiru well for IB there are two ways to go with. They either keep the strict window but improve the reward with blockstun reduction, or increase the window while keeping the same reward, at least for the primary function. The secondary reward like meter gain & chip & risc reduction should be improved in either case. For IFD, I’m fine with how it is tho changing the IB window will require changing the IFD window to match & increasing it might make it too good, particularly in easy to tune situations like IFD on wake up or in low risk situations like true blockstrings with no delays. In either case, I also wish the UI would indicate which IB it is. It needs to have a different “JUST” indicator for normal IB & for IFD.

i would like that throw change. its kind of ridiculous how strong throws can be and theyre supposed to be risky but you can make them completely safe by spending meter. you go for a command grab and you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. you “lose” 50 meter but really it turns into a pressure reset so you didnt really lose anything. yrc is ass aside from killing eddy and minions. better to spend meter on fd. get rid of the meter penalty and it might be worth using. making it faster would make it braindead because it would work against all buttons and if no button was pressed, youd get a brc IB could be easier to do. its a really strong defensive option but i still hardly see anyone use it never realized the difference between scaling with certain starters, thats pretty nuts

Honestly tho lower damage, better conversions and the wall gets reworked (its so useless to wall break most of the time)
