Watkins Glen is safer than Monaco. Plus it's grandfathered so getting FIA grade A rating is not needed.

Saddest part is that with modern ground effect cars you just can't push them at tracks with great elevation changes and bumpy surfaces.

Road America might be the perfect one. Road Atlanta is also great. Both of those have hosted IndyCar so they are close to FIA Grade 1 if not already there.

road america is grade 2, it will need resurface, longer pitlane, expanded runn off. So still some work that needs done but not impossible

Another con is that it’s only around 2 1/2 hours from the Miami GP. So realistically that would have to be bumped

I reckon Road America is the most likely followed by Watkins Glen. A problem I see there with the layout is the chicane though, which doesn’t allow side by side with F1 cars, due to the extreme speed carried through. This may ruin the best overtaking opportunity a bit and running no chicane before that right hander also seems dangerous, though someone also thought Jeddah was not a problem

Sebring was on the F1 calendar in 1959 (for a single year). And the 12 hours or 1000 miles of Sebring earlier this year see a lot of HyperCars racing there was so much fun.

As an American, I have 4 more tracks I think would also make great F1 tracks: 1. Indianapolis -The most historic track in American history, that final turn (Indycar turn 1) would be the best turn in F1, it hosts 250k people and would be a return to the original US GP 2. Sonoma -A bunch of different layouts, it has a lot of Suzuka-esque curves and a great parabolica at the end of the lap 3. VIR -Virginia International Raceway is in a class of its own. It has a main course full of esses, long straights, and hard turns and there's 2 other longer layouts that turn the track up to 6.8 Km long. It's like America's Bahrain or Spa. 4. Mid-Ohio: although it was mentioned in passing, this track does deserve a second look because of all of the difficult turns. It's a true challenge that provides tons of action no matter what part

as a wisconsinite who lives only 30 minutes away from road america, i would love to see it become a formula 1 circuit. however, it is not challenging enough and the turns are too wide. if they used the chicane by the kink i think it could potentially be good enough but it's hard to tell

I've driven Sebring in Formula 4. the bumps would kill an F1 car before they finished T1. I can't imagine how an F1 car would handle Sunset corner, I feel like those would explode lol

Sebring is very fun, but it's way bumpier than the mod you're using. Also, track limits there are barely a suggestion let alone a rule. Road America has just been repaved, so it would be smoother and a couple seconds faster.

These tracks would be awesome for F1, what about doing US street circuits before the Vegas GP? Places like Long Beach, Belle Ilse, St. Petersburg, and Burke Lakefront airport (not really a street but it was the Cleveland GP for CART).

I think the main problem for Watkins Glen in terms of a racing perspective is there isn't really a deep braking zone so I think the racing ability would be pretty poor with the F1 cars. Its lovely to watch an F1 car go around the track, its a great track. But I doubt there would be many overtakes on it, however I would be super happy to be wrong though

To answer the question of if Sebring has held a F1 race, it hosted the 1959 US Grand Prix (According to Wikipedia). Of the 4 circuts you have in the video, I can truthfully see any of these replace what's currently on the schedule, but if I had to choose one, give me Road America, please.

For me Sonoma is hands down the best track in the US. For F1 however...? Lets leave this one to NASCAR and Indy.. Unless you want to shoot F1 cars across California, that might work

I get why they're going to Las Vegas, its clearly for the money. But if they're willing to buy a $200 million plot to construct a pit building then they can easily make the tracks in this video grade 1. Road America is the closest but I'd happily see all of them as they're proper circuits. Street tracks just don't do it for me so these choices would actually be great additions and would probably be welcomed by the F1 community. If they're worried about attendance numbers, the way I see it is if people are interested and prices are reasonable then there's no reason why people won't go. The choices to go to Las Vegas an miami are genuinely awful and in my opinion need to go and be changed to a couple of the tracks mentioned in this video.

Watkins Glen has the unfortunate history of Cevert's death hanging over it (and Jackie Stewart's retirement). It will always be viewed from F1 eyes in the same way that the old Nurburgring is, a dangerous and outdated layout. I don't see any circumstance where F1 would ever return there.

Can they replace Cota? Nah, but should they? Absolutely, but unfortunately they'd need quite a lot of work to be upgraded to FIA Grade 1 and personally I don't think it's worth it, they'd lose a lot of character if the grass was to be removed and the run off areas extended and Imsa, a.k.a the best racing series already races in the whole wide world, already races in all four

lol why would they replace COTA. It has tons of great corners notably sectors 1 and 3, top 5 tracks of the season for w2w racing, lots of elevation changes, brings one of the biggest crowds of the year, and is just a great track overall. Miami and probably Vegas on the other hand, are terrible.
