I suspect the Crimson and Corruption grow at the same rate and use an RNG mechanic involving setting a bar to change a block and then rolling a dice, and the RNG just ruled in corruption’s favor. This may have also been the case for Mushroom Grass. The difference between the Evils and Hallow was significant though, so the Hallow May have a different growth rate.

I DEMAND A REDO, as a member of the wiki gang I know that crimson and corruption have different factors that make them grow faster/slower. One of these factors is what stage the world is on. If the world is in pre-hardmode then they will grow slowly, if it is in hardmode pre-mech bosses then it will grow very very quickly, and if it post plantera then it will drop down to a normal(ish) speed.

Your sample size is pretty small, maybe try a grid like square of blocks to help even things out. And then doing several of that tests, since then you wouldn't have as much of an impact from the rng side of things. A lot of work to go through watching grass grow but interesting nonetheless.
