would tissue and war photographer work as both explore the power of memory through the receipts and credit cards restricting people to what they can and cant do. and WP explores the restriction of sharing memories through on a few of the 24 photos on the camera roll. Also the power those in power over others is shown through the banks or the bosses of the narrators restricting people. also thx for everything mr bruff as i really struggle to motivate myself to revise for english but these videos and helpful and i think ill pass thx to your ideas.

I’m guessing they’ll ask about Nature this year so I believe Kamikaze/Prelude both has a high chance of coming up. You say these poems not only explore the power of nature but also how humans think they are powerful. I see how this is presented in Prelude but not so much Kamikaze. I have the impression it’s perhaps because a Kamikaze pilot has the power to destroy lives but ultimately nature pulls him back? Is that what you’re thinking too?

Hello Mr bruff your video is so helpul may i ask what will usaually come out on literature paper 1 and 2 and will we be given a text,? Many thanks
@ssonnayy_7 ай бұрын
For Paper 1, there are 2 sections, usually: Macbeth and Christmas Carol. For each section, you will be given one question for extract(any scene or piece of text from any part of novell) and one absolutely same question for whole novell. In total 2 questions per Macbeth or 2 questions per Christmas Carol, but answer to those 2 questions in one essay, don't make two seperate ones. For Paper 2, there are 3 sections: Inspector Calls - Poetries from Anchology - Unseen poetry. Paper 2 is usually harder and longer than Paper 1. For Inspector Call's part, you will not be given any extract or text, but there are 2 questions, one is about character, second is about theme. You have to choose only one of them, which one is easier for you. Second section is unseen poetry (what video is about). There is a whole list of names of every poem and their writers. You will get one question about comparing specific theme in one poem from Anchology to any another poem. For the first poem, there is a whole text, but for second poem, you have to choose which one is comparing better, and use your own knowledges to write essay about it. Third section is Unseen poetry, it consists of 2 questions. For the fisrt one, you will be given one question about any theme in poem that you have never seen yet.You have to analyse it in your own, but it's easier because you have a whole poem in the front of you. Next part of section 3 is comparing Unseen poetries. This part is the quickest one and worth only 8 marks. I recommend you to spend only 5-15 minutes on it. So, you will be given new poetry that you have never seen before and you will need to find similarities or differences between this poem and poem from first part of section three (poem, that you have analysed before). You don't need to make whole analysis on last poem, just pick obvious techniques, words, maybe structure, title, whatever you found. Hopefully, it will help you, good luck in your revision and exams!

@@ssonnayy_ so in an inspector calls i won't be given a text. Why are you saying for s characters is harder than for a theme . Do you reckon i pick for the theme?
@ssonnayy_7 ай бұрын
@@Tylertk132I think because the question about character is usually more specific. You have to focus on one person and their changing/development in text, etc. But for theme question, you can use more than one character analysis and take more quotes/phrases. My teachers say, that both types of question are good to pick, but if you have chosen to write about a character, you have to understand what themes they represent and how you can link it to the question. If you want to know something better, I would recommend you to use Mr Salles on youtube, he is so helpful.

@@ssonnayy_ so when answering about the dharacters what do I need to know
@ssonnayy_7 ай бұрын
@@Tylertk132 You have to make sure that you know quotes, specific terminology to describe the character; what they symbolize, their thinking on capitalism/socialism (for example. It depends on the question). I would recommend you, spend 2-5 minutes on planning your answer, write everything you know about the character, and if you think you wrote enough, start to write your essay. Try to memorise basic structure of writing essays, it will be easier for you to organise what you want to write about. Firstly, write an introduction in the beggining. It can be 1-2 sentences, no more!! And conclusion in the end of whole essay, where you can sum up your main ideas. Between intro and conclusion write 2-4 paragraphs: who is character in general, what ideas they represent, their changing, etc. Do more past papers and give them to your teacher to check. Teacher will help you to work out your mistakes and I know it sounds boring, but just try.

@@mrbruff Both explore guilt from war. Kamikaze: guilty for failing to carry out his suicide mission in order to honour his country. Remains: guilty for killing a possibly innocent man. Both explore life after war. Both emphasise the reality and horrors of war. Differences The impact of war in Remains is PTD. Whereas, in Kamikaze the impact is dishonour and isolation from his family as he is seen as cowardly and weak for not honouring his country in war. Kamikaze presents Japanese culture and patriarcal expectations. Is this ok
