RRS resides in Utah now. These tripods will last a life time.

I don't know about Ford focus but I'll pick Toyota over Ferrari any fuc*** day when it comes to reliability. I'll say these tripods are overpriced. I got benro and love it.

; - ) I do trust yer experience more than the Sales team advice at this stage. You finding it easy enough without a leveling-base and simply adjust legs (assuming you don't use it or a nodal slide for pano parallel ax errors)?

+film guy I bought the TVC 33 4 years ago now. I don't think the TVC 24L was even out back then. The 33 is a beast of a tripod, I only use it when I know it's really windy or I'm in for bad weather and need that extra weight

Lewis Von John if given the choice again to buy a new one with the experience you have. Would still go for the 33 or tvc-24L Thanks

film guy Ermmm good question. If stability is the number 1 priority then I'd still go for the TVC 33. It's a great all rounder. Tall enough for my needs and strong enough to hold mirrorless, DSLR, 4 x 5 or 8 x 10 cameras. It is tricky to travel with but that's why the TQC is also good option if you travel a lot.

my point since i cant afford to purchased the extra tqc-14 tripod.... which tripod would you highly recommend - would you still go for the tvc-33 or the tvc-24L or go with the tqc-14 only sorry its just a damn expensive tripod i need a lot of input. thanks

film guy I always look at what I need now but also try to look at what you need potentially in the future so ask yourself is it future proof for your needs because this tripod, if looked after well will last you a life time. if I only had one RRS it'll be the TVC 33 + BH55 lever head. It's big enough to hold bigger systems or one day you may want to shoot a film camera 8 x 10 etc and it's small/light enough to travel with. This is the question I had before and I managed for 4 years without the TQC 14 but as I started to travel more it made sense for me to get the smaller TQC 14 but it's definitely not as stable as the TVC 33. It's trying to find a balance without sacrificing your needs. Tripods are like bags, there isn't 1 camera bag that does the job, you need like 4 different bags to be covered. Ideally, try find a stockist and have a play around with them. It's hard trying to decide from the website.

I bought a fluid head from RRS (FH 350) a few months ago, costed me 2000 bucks. Less than a month of very light use, and the clamp was failing. Inexplicable, my rig is less than 4 pounds. Their answer was: send the clamp on your buck and we'll repair it on your buck, cheapest fix starts at 40-50 bucks, highest we don't know, you pay fort everything in every case. I've been a RRS client for years, not any more. BOTH THEIR PRODUCTS AND THEIR SERVICE TEAM FAIL.

I've not bought anything from them since they moved, I think to Utah. I found them ok for customer service. Not the best though. I hope you can get it fixed or kick some more fuss

RRS would replace it for you if you buy from them, all there parts have a 5year warranty by the original buyer. even after the 5 years they will still help you.

I am very disappointed about RRS. I bought a BH-55 ballhead from them. After the ballhead arrived, the clamp and the quick release plate were full of scratches. I sent a video to them to show them the scratches, their staff saw and admitted the existence of them. They said I could mail the clamp and plate back to them to check. After they received and checked the clamp and plate, they said they couldn't see any scratches and refused to replace new ones for me. They also said if there was any, they were made by the machines and were normal. I wonder why products of other brands like Gitzo and Manfrotto have NO scratches?! They are nearly perfect. I swear to God I will never buy from RRS again. I will buy from brands that have dealers in my country, because I can check the products when buying them. Once I find anything wrong, I can ask for a replacement immediately without any transportation cost.

Contact your credit card company for help. Do you have documentation where RRS stated they agreed there were some damage to the ball head? If so, use that as evidence.

A better question might be why you care if there are a few scratches on the bullhead?

Sorry but for the price of their equipment that should've been a no question RMA and replaced so long as that wasn't obviously scratched up by the customer... Even then I would think a big name for quality like RRS they would just handle it to avoid damaging their reputation. I just got my bh-55 yesterday and while I was VERY impressed, I would've been pissed also had it come in all dinged up
