I was about to buy a leather living room set from Ashley. You changed my mind. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful model by the way.

DON'T! I went the Ashley route, and they are absolute garbage. They look terrible. Worst is that they lost their support to where they are uncomfortable. I'm debating about replacing now or waiting another three years till the kids are in college.

Budget is usually the reason to buy Ashley instead of Lazyboy. However, price comparison means you could have purchased the Ashley twice for around the same amount.

i've been looking recently and similar chairs from both companies are pretty close in price now, with the la-z-boy being just a little higher in price. i hear a lot more negative about ashley, so i'll go with the la-z-boy.

I work for LZB, definitely the best quality on the American market if you are looking for recliners. Most people don't even realize that LA-Z-Boy actually invented the recliner back in 1927 and has 7 original patents to this day that you cannot get anywhere else, so in essence, every other recliner on the market is only trying to emulate what LZB has already perfected. They are also a 7 Billion industry with their own R&D and all of their upholstery is hand tailored in our own factories, one of the last few TRUE AMERICAN companies that never left the U.S to Vietnam or China. Also most retailers offer Lifetime warranties on the frame and all mechanisms for life, so the parts are always free, that is also why it is so easy to maintain the product for years to come, so that's always a plus when considering your next purchase.

My La-Z-Boy recliner didn't last two years before the base cracked. If this is the best on the market, I won't be replacing it anytime soon.
@danielandino6565 Жыл бұрын
@@tomcaine752 You probably misused it, that's solid wood, either way the difference still remains the same, Ashley's gives you 1 year, La-Z-Boy covers the entire frame including the solid wood rocking base and every mechanism for life, all you have to do is call your local La-Z-Boy and they'll replace the base for you or you can just pick it up for free. The only way you would have issues with doing that is if you bought it through a third party company like QVC or homemaker then you're on your own. Don't try to justify buying a cheap Chinese knockoff disguised with an American name over the original, especially when you're gunna end up shelling out more money on replacing an Ashley's chair once your 1 yr warranty inevitably expires, sometimes half the battle is knowing where to get the product serviced after years of ownership. Kind of hard to do that with only 1 year of service.

la-z-boy chairs come with a lifetime warranty? you don't have to pay an extra couple hundred on the warranty, it comes with the price of the chair?

This was such a helpful video! I’ve been going back and forth between an Ashley Signature design Tulen reclining loveseat and a Morrison reclining loveseat. The Ashley is so much more affordable, but i think I’ll spend the extra Money and get the Lazy boy. Your Lazy boy still looks brand new after 10 years! Well a bit longer now as I’m late on this video. I have a laz-y-boy recliner (7 years now) and its still perfect so i knew they made good recliners. But I have a king bedroom set from Ashleys (10 years now) and its sill gorgeous and no quality issues. It was on the higher end though. I guess your always just taking a chance, but i do think Laz-y-boy is probably king of the recliners, lol! Thanks for this great video! Tell your daughter she definitely has a future in TV, she’s such a beautiful young lady!

Your are right to spend a little more!. I actually still have the Ashley unit, and I still sit in it regularly. I had to put a cover over it because trying to keep the holes patched became a lost cause! I just can't bring myself to trash it yet! Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to watch and comment. Good luck with your chair!!

Very helpful video! I've been trying to figure out whether the extra cost of La-z-boy is worth it, and this helps. Also, I love the humor!

Yep was our experience with our ashley recliner rockers too. Just had them both changed out with a lazy boy and a catnapper. Both are comfy chairs. Our old ones had to use a towel for last many months to protect our jeans from the tearing fake leather (?) The scary part was the itty bitty broken off pieces we have two cats and one loved chewing on the small peices. Even found them randomly on the floor.

I was on the cusp about buying an Ashley chair or not Your video made my decision for me. Definitely going with the La-Z-Boy. Pay a bit more but lasts longer. Amortizing the cost over the number of years of use the La-Z-Boy actually costs less per year.
@davcuts2897 Жыл бұрын
The biggest difference is I can afford to buy an Ashley. I've had Ashley's for years and none of them look no where near that bad after several years of use and abuse. Albeit I've only bought faux leather. I've never had a problem with it pealing or ripping. If La-Z-Boy actually made an affordable recliner I would purchase one to see if they are worth the hype. But then again maybe not because I've always been satisfied with Ashley.
@jascam1 Жыл бұрын
Are you comparing apples to apples, are both of these top grain leather or one being faux.
@Gr8thxAlot Жыл бұрын
La-Z-Boy makes a quality recliner, no doubt. It also has full frame and better mechanical features. We got 22 years out of the last La-Z-Boy. The foam padding is turning to dust, so it's time it retires. Well worth the extra money. When it comes to things like a sofa which is basic, I might go with Ashley.

I think budget will always be a factor. Apples to apples some of these companies are apples to lobster tail unfortunately. Im sure everyone wants the best quality, longest lasting but for how much more they are??... sometimes easily 2k more. The prices vary tremendously across several well known furniture stores too. Thanks for shating your experience!

If you don’t spend the money up front for higher quality you will still spend the same amount in the end buying cheap furniture because you will likely need to replace it every few years. We have a la z boy sofa and love seat, camel color. Lighter but not very light. Had them for 8 years. They aren’t heavily used but theyre still like new. Yeah they were super expensive but no regrets. If you have the credit they do 18-36mo 0 interest periodically which makes it a little easier to commit to the cost. Bonded leather isn’t even in the conversation. We cross shopped some other actual real leather sofas and once you sat in the la z boy there just wasnt even a comparison. We bought the la z boy.

My ashleys deteriorated after just a year. Not much use (im a bigger dude) but after just 4 years the Ashleys looked like it had been put through hell. Their customer service also blocked my number and stopped communicating with me. I also paid a stupid amount for their shitty ass warranty that did nothing... they responded to my ticket that the furniture had been abused. Worst company ever and you should just wait for a clearance sale on Lazy boy, youll get way better furniture for the same price as ashleys.

La z boy is junk. Turns out the leather sofa that I paid over $3000 for is plastic between the cushions and they started peeling after just a few years and the cushions started to become flat. It looked awful after just a few years the warranty was a joke never ever buy anything from them again. I have posted a video to KZbin to show how awful it is.
