I have used the 1/4” to lift 3/4” ball shells. I also like to make my tubes a bit longer and put in goodies in the empty space sealed with hot glue.

Hell yeah and back when I started I couldn’t find videos on what to start out with and the actual sizes of rockets. Thank you for watching.

The 1 pound size refers to old english cannon sizes. A 1 pound ball fits a 3/4 " cannon.,etc.

Bro can I ask..what ratio you use for your rockets..fast burning mix or slow burning mix?....
@Smokin_skies6 ай бұрын
Very informative video. Wish I would have saw this back when I first started. Anyways I had a question if you dont mind. Have you tried whistle fuel in the cohete? If so, what type of fuel and the ratios did you use. I had my first Whistling cohete to work, but since then, all of the rest have been CATOs. I've been using Benny with copper ocychloride for the catalyst.
@E85_STI6 ай бұрын
Yes I’ve lit some on my channel but I just used the same ratio that I used in the video where I made Benny whistle fuel. I use red iron oxide, paraffin wax and namptha and my rockets don’t Cato but also when you make whistle rockets ensure your fuse doesn’t go inside the core it should only be touching the outside of the fuel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJK5Z4mvqsabiassi=POVdqvIr7Ef2MEfv

@@E85_STI right on man thanks for the info!I'll go ahead and try your mix. Have you ever tried waxing the tubes interior? You pour melted wax thru it and coat the walls. I guess that will help prevent catos
@E85_STI6 ай бұрын
@@Smokin_skies I have yes when I make my second stage red flash for the helicopters/buzzbangs but a cato can happen if the mix is too hot or the nozzle is too small. I’ve had a few BP ones do that on my 5/16 rockets but I adjusted the ratio and it went away. I’ve made 1/4 5/16 1/2 5/8 rockets from whistle and all of them worked just fine but I always use the same chems I haven’t tried Sali mix yet

Not sure if you’re still posting. But nice video and I like someone attempting to explain the heading weight limits a little as most don’t see that and do assumed the 4oz, 1Lb can carry that weight. Question for you as I’m just starting on rockets this week, did my BP runs/tests and now move on. Are you using the manual method or do you have a press?
@E85_STI27 күн бұрын
@@Theactualcurrentsea so I have a 6 ton fireworks press I use it for the black power and my whistle rockets. If you go through my videos you’ll see the press and I use a press to force gauge and a tube support to keep the tube from splitting. You can use a manual Arbor press which I was using initially and it works well. For BP hand ramming is cost effective and works great still

Hello. I'm really new to this cool Hobbie. What is the difference between nozzle, and nozzless tooling? I'm going to start off building 5/16 rockets. Do I need to purchase 2 different tools to make 5/16 sugar and black powder rockets, or can I use the same tool to make both? Someone please inform me.
@E85_STI9 ай бұрын
No j use the same tools for sugar rockets but the nozzle less is just the composition so it burns the entire inside where as a normal bp rocket uses a clay nozzle and that doesn’t burn but forces the pressure out of the nozzle for its lift. I really like the 5/16 but for sure you can make a sugar rocket with the same tools.
@davidlake55509 ай бұрын
@E85_STI thank you so much for your information and insight! Another? Nozzless rockets, are the ones that don't have a clay nozzle,? Like candy / liquid rockets? ,, just a hole down through them after they have cooled for awhile,?

If you guys are "rolling your own" you can use most any kind of paper....even newspaper. Just mix carpenters glue 50/50 or so with water....or a mix of water and alcohol...and get busy rolling, let'em dry and load...

Hey have you tried using whistle fuel on the Super BP tooling?
@Pyroflorida8 ай бұрын
Whistle , all types , and strobe fuel will perform very well on bp tooling.. Since spindle is usually very long disregarding what tooling size it is 4 oz or 1 pound, etc, the secret is 1/ 2 spindle whistle then 1/ 2 strobe , both at at least 7000 psi If only whistle is used best bet is 1/2 spindle sali then 1/2 benzo

Tooling is easy to make... Other items similar to them work as well- Note paper spike, circle drill bit attachment etc , buy PVC pipe that fit your tool... #2 You don't need a press for whistle rockets under 1in. "C" Clamp or vice is sufficient. So much misinformation on KZbin that discourage newbies. You don't need to spend thousands to get started. Black powder is not needed either... Sugar or whistle easy without a mill.

i started whistle rockets with tubes, chems, tools, press and a force gauge for under $450, it doesn't have to be expensive to get a nice setup but I wouldn't recommend making your own tooling for larger rockets
