UNV and R-Series products are ONVIF compatible, so yes they should work. BUT, we definitely recommend sticking with the same brand for a system to get full compatibility. It's the best way to guarantee all the features will be supported

Hello. Can you please help me as to how I can use my icam2 which was through my cable acct. It is manufactured by Serrcom. It was only 1 cord which is directly wired from the back of the camera and the other end is Ethernet that plugs into power block. I can't fid any info on this configuration. I would greatly appreciate your help. Lost in Okla.

Good question! They are extremely similar in a lot of ways, but one glaring difference is NDAA compliance. UNV is NDAA compliant, and HikVision is unfortunately not. Because of this fact, HikVision has limitations. For example, if you are wanting to install security equipment on federal government property, your equipment has to be in compliance with the NDAA.
