So you want to return to or start playing MapleStory but have no idea which server to choose? Well then you came to the right video!
As someone who has spent way too much time in this game on a lot of servers I have a pretty clear picture of the advantages and disadvantages of different servers.
But we’re not here to talk about my crippling maplestory addition but about which server is right for you!

Yes! I used to GRIND maplestory 10 or so years ago when I was 12-13. Maple and combat arms were a solid 4 years of my childhood. So many memories meeting other maplers in which I became friends with.. we would make new characters and grind together, just hang out and chat, whitest showing off our newest chairs/mounts/skills. Party quests like moon bunny etc. goood ass memories that I’ll never forget !! Wanting to try and relive those moments, I’ll give it another install !

I play in Bera, I played back in the old days where we’d sit in Channel 1 of the free market, and all of us free to play plebs had to yell over and over about a gear we wanted to sell and HOPE someone would choose us to buy it. So regular servers are fine for me haha. I actually quite like the auction house. Although getting hyper teleport rocks for meals is appealing.

Great work. 👍 as a old maple player seems like people are on reboot more... it would be great if regular server can offer cubes for mesos I think in general people go to reboot is because of cubes. And if you boss you can get mesos to buy cubes in 2 or 3 months of saving tbh... seems like regular server need, a system of cubing just my opinion... also wanted to mention about wild totem is a big + . easy level , legion power on top of things. Love the video man this is good bring back maple alive again . Love the content 👌

Every class I've ever made was in Khaini...how I miss the days. It's eventually merged 2 or 3 times to what is now Elysium and it's just not the same as it used to be. I actually play a lot of Maplestory M now and think it's pretty fun! I main an Ice Lightening mage, about to hit lvl 205! :)

@@AzumaRikimaru Hey! There’s 5 really simple daily quests (i.e use 10 potions to complete, etc) That reward 100 maple points each, so 500mp total daily for your linked account. That’s actually how I got pulled to the game and now I’m hooked haha no benefit in the mobile game though for linking the account, rewards just for PC.

I would recommend basing your choice on ping if you already have a ping reliant class in mind that you absolutely want to main. Other than that, the ping is not an issue. Looting is not relevant since pets are very easily acquired and while NPC chats and going through portals are a little bit slower with higher ping, you get used to it very quickly.

The fact that elysium is the less populated server on na is good for me, i can always stay on top 2 in the mu lung dojo and have the gloves all the weeks so i can concentrate on upgrade another piece of my gear

Why does Maplestory not incentivize team playing? Like, why not optimize the larger maps with higher mob numbers and give additional bonus EXP proportional to the number of party member you have?

Cause its a F2P mobile game on PC that makes banks of money from gamblers. If you consider the cost (money and effort) of paying developers to research, plan, test, produce and balance party/group content and also the profit the team of financial analysts predicts such content would produce, its just not worth it for the company. In this day and age you dont choose whats fun anymore, companies do. Whatever makes them most profit is what you should think is fun. If you dont find the way a game monetizes the fun aspect then you just quit playing and find another game where you do. Cosmetics, expansions, loot crates and RNG, battle passes. Pick your poison.

It's just so sad to me to see Henesys be completely empty. It's a ghost town. Back in the day it was THE spot and it was packed with people. I don't know man...I want to give it another chance but it not having a community (other than the tryhard hardcore players) it's kind of sad to me. Also...being able to get to level 200 in a single day is kind of ridiculous, that used to take months filled with adventures, new friends and lots of progression and now it is worth absolutely nothing. Any advice or recommendations?

Henesys is still packed but the game got a lot bigger over time. There are more high level areas now where people also chill. As well as their own homes. The max level is 300 now (which is kinda impossible to reach) so not much changed in that regard. The number just got higher.

As an Elysium player I think if you don’t like making friends or joining guilds you’ll have a bad time here. It’s a small world for us and you’ll get very lonely if you’re not social.

Reboot just seems like it's a lot more future proof with the way Nexon is. It almost feels like the same decotamy a lot of mmos have going right now. The main server exists so that we can have reboot without any caveats. Runescape exists so osrs can do whatever it wants. WoW exists so classic can be independent. Etc etc.... One has to exist so that the developers have something to show corporate so that they leave the other one alone

You can play both servers but reboot is mostly for people with free time, you will need at least 4 daily hours to progress everyday, while in reg you can just do dailies and pay for the rest.

I got more progression done playing Reboot in 2-3 months than I did in the 6~ years I progressed on Kradia (now merge into Aurora). I USED to miss the ability to trade equipment between characters to boost my mules but I've found it way more satisfying to naturally progress the equipment simply by levelling and doing quests. I also think there's more value to doing the quests on Reboot than on Regular servers also. A lot of the gear and mastery books you get through them are worth the time. You need to do some prequests to do certain bosses so you might as well change it up and quest for EXP anyways!

I reach at 8k legion on Bera. then after 2x drop removal i changed to reboot and this was best decision i ever made, reboot 100% free to play, and all depends how much your work, on bera you can play as a free to play but very hard comparing to reboot progression, easir to level but harder to finish gears.

I saw alot of Oldbie and Newbie got Banned by GM with Third-party reason and maybe some of them did it but some are not. My Case: I started play GMS Reboot like 6 months and finally got 12k stat and 4k6 Legion, then i got Banned after 3 days trip with my friend. i borrow his Lap loggin just for Fairy Bros and Leveling new Char. Like most people I will recomend reboot. It's a bit harder to get started but once you got past that progression is a lot better than f2p on regular servers. And one thing that won't apply to most people is that, if you decide to go past level 250 reboot becomes faster as the cash shop 2xExp coupons won't work past level 250.

Definitely go Reboot if you want to play this game in the long term. Everything is fine and dandy in the Regular server until level 200+ where bossing becomes mainstream and you get Epic Potential blocked. You just tossed 2-8 hours down the drain and I doubt the first poor impression will make you restart again in Reboot. Regular however caters to players who don't mind pay to win, however the issue is unlike games where you pay 50 bucks and developers gives you the "Your Majesty" treatment, you still have to be lucky. You don't just pay-to-win, you have to pay-enough-to-win, and 50 bucks is just an entry number.

Having played maple on/off since around 2008 or 09. I only just last week hoped on the EU Reboot, I never played EMS as my NA account was old enough that it didn't get the region lock at the time. The Ping difference, Never thought I had bad ping to NA servers, I can get over the looting difference as I always have a pet anyway but the Dialogue. I don't know what way the "newer" dialogue system works because it seems way more ping reliant than the old system. I didn't realize how much quicker it was for NA players. Don't know if ill ever go back now honestly.

I just joined the server with the most people which was the reboot server and i dont regret my decision. Much easier to level up and they give u some free stuff to help you progress a little fast and some level up potions. Joined a guild and met a lot of nice people to party quest. I tried regular server and my character level up so slow and the game feels empty with nobody. Also i dont like the idea of merchanting in the auction house. Feels like i can easily get scammed.

Howdy, I’m thinking of jumping back in to MS after a long hiatus. Played a lot in during 2005-10 era before Big Bang and a little after. My question is; as a dad and husband, I want a casual experience I can play maybe at the end of the day for like an hour or two. Which server would give me the most bang for my time.

Yeah if I could I would go for reboot. Regular server players got screwed over ... period. Wish they had this system with cubes for mesos on regular. No wonder why half the player base is gone on regular and reboot is fire.... makes me wonder if I should keep playing on regular or just quit.... honest opinion to save regular server is to implement cubes for mesos on regular. That would actually draw back old players more and bring new players in.

Sounds like reboot is the way to go for me as a new player. Seems like reboot as way less system that could make me feel overwhelmed. Now to determine if EU or NA. Is lag/ping that bad when playing from Europe on NA? Is population so bad on reboot EU?

Playing on reboot EU myself, i don't mind the lower population. There's a still quite a few guilds at member cap, all bosses are being run by players, and being smaller means we don't have to fight over burning on maps (maps that don't have players on them will gain burning, which buffs exp gained by up to 100%). It's absolutely not dead, but it's definitely a lot quieter than NA reboot. As for the lag, for most classes you wouldn't notice it much on NA. The small pickup delay gets negated by pets, delay in chat messages don't matter much, so it's mostly about the class. Playing Dawn Warrior or Blaze Wizard with 100+ ping is borderline unplayable, but playing Kanna or NL would be absolutely fine. If you don't mind it being a bit quieter, i'd go for EU, just to have a nicer time with the ping. We still have MVPs being cast, guilds you can join, bosses you can do, and NA is currently struggling with some extreme server lag problems that we luckily aren't affected by. If you do think the lack of population will be a problem, go to reboot NA. They do have a lot more people, and if your main is barely affected by ping it shouldn't cause any issues.

I played regular server from 2009-2012 , and Reboot Server from 2016 to this day , 4 years in regular server and a whooping 7 years in Reboot server The reason why I choose reboot server is because it fits more my playstyle and the way how I see MMORPGS : - I like one the server is very populated with active players , when I played regular servers I played in Kradia , so very dead - There is no pay2win things other than the new "pet" or the "mvp exp" , other than that everything is about putting your time and getting rewarded - Upgrading items is EASIER and less complicated , we only have Star Force and Cubing , while reg servers has those 2 with bonus cubing and TRACING - In addition to what I mention above , cubes are gotten in reboot by just buying them with mesos , reg server the red and black cubes are lock behind limited RP and behind a paywall that you either require maple points or real money. - It's a lot easier in Reboot to reach lvl 250 or end game as a free to play player than what it is in regular server. Usually in Reboot is fairly easy to get your equipment to 17* and have all your gear at legend potential. Once that it's achieved , your character will just snowball thru weekly content and be ready for runs like Lucid or Will - Also , Reboot has more of a friendly start for new players since they give you 200m mesos from the get go with free epic and unique scrolls. - As coppersan mentioned , in Reboot you won't really hit a "wall" like you did in regular server. The progress is so streamlined and you have the passive % final attack that even if you get very unlucky with RNG or you won't get the boss drop , upgrading in Reboot is a lot more easy and way more accessible than regular server - Lastly here a comparative of Coppersan on his regular server vs reboot server , coppersan in only 6 months in Reboot Server crush everything he accomplished in 10 years+ from his regular server. And will soon have his first lvl 250 character :)

1 bil barely means anything in reboot. You will even get negative progression from just a few bil. Even in mid game, one would have to farm months and wait for events to make any positive progression.

Played both reboot and regular, both to 250+. I prefer regular server for my current lifestyle. I work and don't have the time to grind like I used to for reboot. Also once I started going past 17 stars on reboot its a huge pain. I spent 40b to actually lose stats which was 40 hours of my life gone. At least on regular server I can buy completed gear.. But I will say it does feel satisfying to make your own gear on reboot.

I also choose luna not knowing what the hell reboot was.. Last time I played MS it was EMS we had Scania.. Horntail and pink bean were hard.. Cygnus had only just came out really and potential gear was now a thing.. Best training spot to max level (200) was lion castle.. skelly b4 that. Now I came back and im so overwhelmed with how much I need to do I have no idea where to go.. I just got a demon slayer to 220 and now finding out about legion and links, daily, weekly.. I've had to stop dead on my ds to start grinding multiple char for legion links and god knows what else. So much to so little time to fit it all in? I know this comment is over a year old but I can not think of a worse game for classic servers than MS Do you remember how bad leveling was pre-bb? Granted I was a kid, but I remember making new chars at 40 multiple times cause it got so slow until I finally stuck to shadower and got them to 8x. NO THANKS lmao

reboot is maplestory in beta mode, cant even trade! can't even scroll! plus reboot you basically need to pay for a vac pet every month now.. a paid subscription to play reboot! Reg server you don't have to do that. Reboot is basically just a farming simulator. When i played reboot i feel like i was a robot wasting my life sitting on a kanna 8 hours a day
