Which Side are you on?

This was written last week by my brother in law,Tony Runham, in response to the shenanigans of our new , and slightly crazy PM and Chancellor. I've tweaked the words a bit further to suit me. The song became popular after Pete Seeger did a version in 1941 of a 1930 original. This tune seems to be a good engine for popular protest. played on my Avalon Ard Ri 7 .

I'm trying to learn this but struggling with figuring out the strumming pattern even slowing the video down. Do you know of any good resources for learning to play it or have any tips?

Thanks for your interest. Perhaps a good start is to practice alternating bass notes with a single down stroke across all the strings...so with Am it would be- string 5/strum chord,string 4(I hammer on the 2nd finger) /strum chord,/repeat all down strums but the hand comes up after each down stroke so that it can hit the next down stroke whether single note or chord. When you have that nice and steady and accurate, try doing a down/up strum every 2nd down strum..so.....down(single string)down strum/down (single string)/down/up strum...down,down ,down down/up...repeat or say...123/12,123/12...slow and steady does it ..don't rush. As you change chords always try hit the root note of the chord as the first of the single note hits....hope this helps a bit ...good luck..
