In today's video I go over some of the Sonia G face brushes that I usually dont talk about to help you figure out which one is right for you.
* I made a mistake when speaking of general Yamamoto. He was the highest ranking of the Imperial Japanese NAVY. He commanded the Pacific fleet. I said “army”

Omg! It’s like you read my mind! I was having a tough time which cheek brush to get. I have decided to add the Master Face and the Soft Cheek to the Designed Pro I already have in the way. 🙈 These will be my first three Sonia G brushes🤗

Aww thank you ☺️. Those are great choices. You pretty much have everything covered to get all powder products applied. Those are the 3 I would pick to start out my collection.

Also wanted to mentioned learning about Japanese history and your grandfather was just fascinating! Your skin looks so airbrushed and flawless. Did you do a final buff with finishing powder? If so which brush did you use? I have also seen a brush just leave the most beautiful sheen on your cheek. Wondering which one that was?

I don’t remember but it’s probably the master face with the Dior powder or hourglass finishing powder. The chikuhodo Z8 leaves a sheen when you buff your product in. Also my newer addition the Hakuhodo G5545 allows for that as well

It's no problem at all. It will grow in time. Maybe we should announce it on Reddit. That's where I used to go for Fude news. Is that against their policy?

Love the history portion at the end! How awesome to actually have a piece of history in your family!!!! I didn’t realize that most Japanese fighter pilots did not often return home.
@brushjunkie6384
@brushjunkie6384 2 жыл бұрын
Yep they lost so many pilots they started training “kamikaze”. All they had to do is take off and take a steep dive into the enemy. Many of them were very young men… more like boys. Such a waste of life.

I love the Cheek Pro! It's such a fantastic brush. I'm glad you held up all the brushes next to each other at the end because I always thought the Soft Cheek was smaller than the Cheek Pro (or at least the base of the hair is smaller but it's overall taller). That kind of changes things. I may end up getting that someday.

Oh! That was totally not planned but I will start doing that more. Those brushes are very different so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have both

Thank you for sharing a piece of your family history with us, and I'm glad you and your family are feeling better! ☺️ You mentioned that you prefer the Designer Pro over the WG Airbrush for under eye and targeted powder application. I have the Designer Pro and was considering getting the Airbrush as well for just this purpose. I'm curious now if these two brushes are more similar than I realize and what gives the Designer Pro an edge in your opinion?
@brushjunkie6384
@brushjunkie6384 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do reach for the designer pro over the airbrush. It’s more substantial and gets the job done faster. The airbrush however is still a great option and it’s such a deal at $45. But realistically the designer pro does everything the airbrush does and then some so for you I would consider another Sonia g cheek brush like the cheek pro or soft cheek if you don’t have those yet. They’re about the same price and will serve more purposes. I’m so glad to hear you enjoying the new content. 🥰

Hi! Is the cheek pro almost the same size and application with the Classic Base? I watched your previous video of 5 brushes and you mentioned that the Classic Base is versatile for finishing and at blush. I’ve been tossing around choosing these two brushes.
@brushjunkie6384
@brushjunkie6384 Жыл бұрын
So these are two very different brushes. Size of the head may be somewhat the same but the cheek pro is soft and flexible and excels at powder blush application and it's a pinched ferrule so its not round like the classic base. The classic base is much more substantial and does cream products best. If you like a very dense brush for finishing it will suit you well. Both brushes are great but the cheek pro is a standout to me that you can't find with other brands.

@@brushjunkie6384 thanks for your inputs! I bought the Keyaki Mini set and Designer Pro after watching (tons) of your videos. And you inspired me to buy more ☺️. I would go buy the Cheek Pro for Dior and Gucci blush, then the Classic Base for finishing powder like Chantecaille blurring powder or Chanel pressed powders. Are these the right chooses for the make up applications and products I’ve mentioned? I’m so tempted to buy the Soft Buffer and mini-base for finishing steps, but I figured I got lots on my list :) thanks again for creating the vids :) very helpful to peeps like me who knows zero bout brushes, I’ve finally figured out why my make up aren’t coming out great. Looks like I wasn’t using the right tools. I’ve learned so much great things from you ! And I’m Asian too, and I can relate to your style of make up application.

So because the cheek brush is firmer you think it’s better for less pigmented blushes like Hourglass? I wanted the Wayne Goss Airbrush but it’s out of stock. I got the mini cheek and detailed pro, which I probably don’t need if I’m going to use them both for highlighter - I want to get use from the detailed pro but it’s also huge for the eyes - maybe an all over buffer at the end, but I also have the jumbo blender. I hope I didn’t buy non thought out ones, but a lot were out of stock during the Beautylish card event. That’s awesome history - thanks for sharing - that’s really amazing. I wish I learned more from my grandparents before they died.

Yes that’s right. Those hourglass blushes can be hard to show up. I personally don’t like the mini cheek for blush but since you have it try it with the hourglass and see. The detail pro can be used for targeted powdering too but I prefer it for highlighter. I haven’t used mine much so try it for different things. The cheek pro is great for light blushes. I’m glad you are enjoying this content. ☺️

I also love the soft cheek (for soft application or when working with pigmented blushers) and the cheek pro (for hard to pick up and sheerer formulas, small pans etc.), but was never a fan of the classic cheek 🤷🏻‍♀️I know the classic cheek is loved by many, it was just a bit too dense and targeted so never really found a good use for it, and I prefer other brushes for contour and highlighter.
@brushjunkie6384

My thoughts exactly. I’ve tried the classic cheek with cream blush and it worked fine. It feels too delicate for cream products.
